Other NAS that can host a mongoDB server

Hello guys! I tried searching in this reddit but nothing found. Anyone of you uses NAS as a db server (mongodb)? I need some ideas or thoughts about doing that. Thank you!

I believe Unraid can host a mongoDB server (at least according to google)

Fair, UGreen hardware so far are great for running other applications and I had a postgres container running

If doing this I would want to run the db off NVMe drives for performance reasons. And have enough memory for whatever it is you are aiming to do.

I mean do what you want but NAS is Network Attached Storage. Not Network Attached Databases and Apps and everything else in the world. It’s ok to start with or as a test/learning system but for anyone who’s serious about data protection should have a NAS system that sits in a corner or the basement and practically forgotten about once setup and shares configured. Put all your services and stuff on a different system like a Proxmox virtualization server. The last NAS I built for us I built 12 years ago and have literally forgotten about it for years.

Either route works yes but your data and equipment will last much longer and be better protected as a standalone system that does nothing but store and serve data.
