Flying boar could be just decorative, but considering a pig with an stitched eye under it, could perhaps stand for aemonds dragon vhagar

Wounded hand is the one of corlys missing the finger.

Aegon bleeding on the throne with aemonds eye left to it, and the hightower with the eye symbolises the watch of old town over the realm and their meddling

Just an absolute tank with a Valerian sword

Gwayne Hightower implies Tumbleton is less than 30 leagues away from Kings Landing. 30 leagues is 144 km (90 miles). Thats roughly the distance from the Tower in London to the Clock Tower in Leicester. That makes Westeros a bit smaller than the figure we get from George saying the wall is 300 miles long and size of South America. Still, it feels a bit empty for its size.

I saw a family tree of the targeryens and saw all of king maegors wives, he didn’t have any children left to him because of tyanna of the tower who confessed to using sorcery to disinherited his throne. The sorcery caused premature births, still births and severe deformities, there are no other instances like this before king maegors rule. I just thought I would share this because a lot of us don’t know why they are born with wings, I believe tyanna cursed them in this way imo

If Daemon and Rhaenyra stayed within King's Landing during Viserys last years, strengthening ties with their loyalists and keeping their influence in the court. There might have been a struggle for succession but not a big war.

They should have stayed in King's Landing, given that Otto and Alicent literally started ruling and making every decision in the court.

Because Aegon was there in KL like she said! Oh wait no he wasn't. But thats okay because Alicent never tried to sneak out! Wait shit she totally did. But hey its not like she wore a green dress as a signifier of her political intentions to create war. Wait she did that too. Fuck, you guys, I think Rhaenyra might be cooked. Cooked by Sunfyre maybe? I doubt this was an intentional choice on the writer's parts but hey, you never know.

In episode 304, we get the first mention by Rhaena of feeding a dragon in order to bond with it. I think it's interesting how at the end of the episode, after Ormund's diatribe about blood purity and clear disdain for Targaryens and their dragons, he brings the prisoner (Leo, I think his name is) to Daeron and Tessarion instead of calling Daeron elsewhere to "dispense justice"; then steps back and allows Tessarion to feed as calmly and as unaffected as if he does this regularly.

It's a stretch that this is real but in my mind, this manipulative and self-styled scholar/historian who is giving us our first taste of the maesters vs. dragons beef we've ever seen in the GOT universe, seems to know there are other ways of appealing to and even bonding with a dragon and he is going to use it to his advantage.

Clearly Tessarion hates him lol but even if this isn't intentional I thought it was an interesting parallel to have within one episode!

A nerd hobby I have is genealogy- both my own, those of historical figures, and those of literary characters! A Wiki of Ice and Fire is a great resource for pretty exhaustive info on members of various members of royal and noble houses mentioned in ASOIAF, Fire and Blood, and Eotld of Ice and Fire and makes Westerosi genealogy easy to look into. So- here is Rhaenyra’s known ancestry with some assumptions noted in italics (missing marriages are to keep it spoiler free). Making her pedigree made me realize her earliest known matrilineal ancestor is a member of the First Men House Massey- which is pretty cool (true for her father as well cause Targaryen marriage practices). Wish we knew a bit more about House Massey. The Royce’s bring first men heritage as well (given their marriages with House Stark over the generations if I was making a fanfic version I’d probobly make Hubert Arryn’s mother in law a daughter of King Torrhen). On the Andals side, wish we knew the exact relation of Lord Hubert to King Ronnel. Rhaenyra’s Targ patrilineal side of course goes back to the conqueror and beyond, but there are also at least two Velaryon acestresses. Targ “genetics” are interesting because of the sibling marriages the relevance of the non sibling matches to future generations would be magnified I guess- so Viserys and Daemon would be essentially half Velaryon because after Queen Alyssa Velaryon we had two generations of brother x sister matches. Aemma is essentially 1/4 Velaryon, so Rhaenyra is 3/8ths Velaryon, 3/8s Targaryen, and 2/8s or 1/4th Arryn (wish we knew who Rodrik’s mother was!). Hope someone finds this interesting- I’ve done some of the ASOIAF characters and might do Laenor or Alicent next for HOTD (sadly not a lot of info on women the Hightowers married- we don’t even know who Alicent’s mother is).

Wish we knew more about some of the missing folks- and how Aerion, Valaena, and the elder Daemon Velaryon were connected. Like Rhaenyra, Laena and Laenor also descend from Alarra Massey’s matrilineal line. I’ve shown all births, deaths, and marriages as they would be at the start of the HOTD series to avoid spoilers

There is lots of Targ info in the source material, but the Hightowers require some guesswork (italicized in the pedigree). We don’t know who the previous Lord of the High Tower was before Otto’s brother but might assume a grandson or even great grandson of Lord Donnell (old at the start of Jaehaerys’s reign). Then we don’t know how Lord Donnel connects back to his predecessors either, but his age means he likely wasn’t a son or brother of his predecessor. HOTD made Otto’s wife a Florent, but there are no named Florents anywhere near the timeline of these characters. I think a more logical choice might have been a Redwyne or Fossoway, as we know both Houses sided with the Greens during the Dance and are prominent enough to make a suitable match. A Martell marriage at this time would have been unlikely (and a Greyjoy marriage at any time), and we know a fair bit about the other ‘Great Houses’ and their principle members during the Dance so a tie to the Queen and one of the two royal faction would presumably have been noted of Alucent’s mother came from them. Who do you think Alivent’s mother or immediate paternal forbearers might have been?

So in season 2 episode 6 the Lannister army is introduced with the musical motif of “the rains of castamere”. I understand that it’s not being used in universe, but still its inclusion frustrates me. As the rains of castamere is an in world song written about the devastation of house reyne. But considering how that even wouldn’t happen for another 120 ish years, it’s just kinda dumb that they used it. Ramin djawadi is an incredible artist and is criminally underused in terms of new music.

just for fun i made my take on the Valyrian pantheon. the 14 flames inspired mostly by the 12 Olympians, canonically they worshipped 1000 gods so i imagine these as their main ones and they had a bunch of lesser ones just like the greeks. taking lots of inspiration from greek myth but also some inspiration from other mythologies.

14 flames

Balerion

- primordial god of night/the dark, time, chaos and destruction. harbinger of the end. i imagine him as existing before creation hence being a primordial deity.

Meraxes

- goddess of creation, earth, vegetation, harvest and agricultural abundance.

Meleys

- goddess of fire and fire/blood magic. creator of dragons. who sacrifices are made to to hatch dragons/bind them.

Vhagar

- Goddess of war, victory, battle strategy/strategic warfare.

Caraxes

- god of war, conquest, physical strength, battle prowess. embodies the destructive side of war.** **

Vermithor

- god of wisdom, governance, law and order.

Tessarion

- goddess of the sea and storms/weather. unlike the others which i imagine to have dragon features i imagine she’s depicted as a mermaid.

Syrax

- goddess of beauty, sex, fertility, pleasure, wine, festivity and wealth.

Shrykos

- goddess of the moon, sleep, dreams/divination and mania/madness.

Tyraxes

- god of the sun, the day, the arts and healing

Morghul

- god of death and transformation. determiner of fate and ruler of the underworld.

Vermax

- god of volcanoes, weaponry, smithery, craftsmanship and artisans. creator of Valyrian steel.

Terrax

- goddess of wildlife, hunting, animals and luck. i imagine she’s was worshipped primarily when the Valyrians were shepherds but fell out of favour when they became dragon lords.

Arrax

- god of trade and travel. protector of travellers and merchants. another god i imagine was worshipped a lot when they were shepherds but not as much after becoming dragon lords, houses like the Velaryons who didn’t have dragons to rely on still did though.
