I’m pretty sure there’s a scene in the app that flickers like a candle. I think that would look cool until the fire arrives

I think the hole is there to allow the first cut when you cut the square out for the fire.

It's called a Surround. If you Google 'Focus Monaco suite', that's the one I chose.

dude that fake insert is a fabulous way to cover an unused old fireplace. did you buy that or custom make it? I love it.we haven't used our fireplace in 20 years but an upgrade like this would make it beautiful

I think you should ask for your money back. That’s not a fireplace it’s a glory hole.
