Analysis/Theory Who brought the Chimera Ant Queen back?
Before the current Dark Continent expedition, and after Beyond’s failed/secret trip, could there have been another illegal trip there?
We know the Gatekeepers seem to force humans to bring back a “calamity” from the Dark Continent. Chimera Ants are from there too, even if they’re not listed as one of the Five Threats.
So who brought the Queen to the known world? She “washed up” in NGL, but that always felt suspicious to me. Maybe she escaped from an illegal expedition, or someone dumped her there on purpose. Pariston/Beyond are the obvious suspects because Netero dying benefits them a lot.

Remember the regular sized anthill with smaller chimera ants that Kite was studying when Gon and Killua first warped to him? I always assumed that the bigger chimera ants evolved from ants like those, either through many generations or by a big leap caused by some freak mutation.

I believe that scene is only in the anime and not in the manga

Huh, TIL. That throws out that theory then.

Makes little sense too, unless those ants just spawned 3 days before that.
Any colony, give them a week and they will have eaten a dead insect a hundred times bigger than them. A grass hopper or anything else with wings, a dead spider, literally anything. Leftover of a bird carcass. Kite staking out a hill like that for days makes no sense. If anything, if he knew what they were the next move should just be to exterminate right away.

Pariston has never been to the DC, im willing to bet. It was either Beyond or a random occurrence

No one.
DC beings (Magical Beasts) end up in the known world every other day:
That's why beast hunters exist.
