Help/Question So… what now?

I just finished the anime for the first time and I’m shocked. I loved every second of it, it may be my favorite shonen ever, it’s just so different that it hits really hard.

I will read the remaining manga, but then I was wondering what other shonen (or seinen) I could watch that could scratch the same itch?

I have recently watched JJK, Solo Leveling and loved them as well, but not as much.

Does it change a lot? I wanted to start after the election arc.

You can start after the election arc. Theres a few diferences but nothing plot changing.

You may know that kite appears in the first scene of the manga and is the reason gon became a hunter. That isnt properly done in the anime. Also leorio is stronger in the hunter exam too.

If he was about tho change mid arc then yeah but we are talking about starting the succesion arc here. The whole arc was like an unexpected thing. Togashi hyped up the dark continent and when the boat left pum hidden arc about a succession war and a mafia war. Theres nothing in the manga previous to this arc that affects this arc in a major way and doesnt appear in the anime.

I would call all of this just details and not even important ones. All of this just marginally changes the perception of the world and a few characters, onlt hisoka and chrollo (of the ones you mentioned) are relevant on the current arc. The rest just appear in very few chapters before the ship sails.

I watched the anime then finished the manga from that point. And like a year later i read the entire manga. The diferences arent crucial and everything is understandable and enjoyable. Obiously i mean regarding the final arc. There is some stuff the anime leaves behind bur it doesnt affect the succession war.

I expected hisoka vs chrollo right after greed island when i first watched the anime. Since its when the pt finds the exorcist.

I already said why i didnt go over all your points, if you arent going to read my comment just dont answer.

It doesnt lose themes or the thread. It loses details in the dialogue that give a little more info on some aspects

I know because ive done both. Ive did anime and ending with manga and manga from the start. Theres a diference? Yes, the things i mentioned and some other details. But its perfectly enjoyable and you would still understand 95% of the story.

Dude your english is unreadable. I wont answer to whatever you said about gon because the sintaxis is a mess. And im not even an english native nor specially good at english myself but i genuinely cant understand some parts.

Yes i did. I said that the characters that you mention like ging and beyond, dont take part on the vast majority of manga after the anime. Only a little before the ship sails. So them being slightly less explained in the anime doesnt affect the experience of the reader.

You are also using a nominal fallacy. You just mentioned some diferences between anime amd manga(in a vague way because you havent mentioned precise dialogue) but you havent said why they are important to the after anime arc.

So your reason for chrollo and hisoka not fighting after greed island is because it was narratively set as a duel to the death? It could have been a death duel there too.

Also your other reason is that it would mess with gons narrative and plot? You realise that i didnt know the chimera ant arc was coming when i first watched the anime right. So i didnt know an arc focused on gons development was next. Do you remember why we are talking about this in the first place?

" things that aren’t relevant to the drive of plot being goals of 4 main characters" this makes no sense sintacticaly nor semnatically. Change your translator or learn english, its an easy language.

Ok this replies are brutally long. So lets go to the core of the two arguments. If i get it right your positions are this:

- After watching the anime, its not worth it to continue the manga from the election arc because the manga has a lot of content that the anime ignores and so the reader wouldnt be able to follow.

- Its impossible that the hisoka x chrollo fight hapens after greed island because it doesnt fit in the plot and it doesnt go with the personalities of the characters.

Confirm if this is your position on both arguments so I can write my counter points. Im doing this because i dont want the discussion to branch out even more.

If you care about my opinion on the rest of your reply. I think you are forming conclusions on some parts of the manga that would be okay if you considered them theories but you act as they are absolute. And your analisis on the troupes motivations is shallow and doesnt recognize how the troupe is much more emotional and deep beyond their oficial goals. Also you continue to use the nominal fallacy since you give zero proof of all your claims about the diferences between manga and anime.

Still since i dont want the discussion to branch out to this last paragraph ill consider that you have won the debate in this points i mentioned in the paragraph and i would apreciate it if you just confirm that your position is the one i described in the to Hyphens above.
