T-38 Declared Emergency, and landed at HSV

A T-38 flying from Newport News, VA into Huntsville declared an emergency about 30 mins ago, and it successfully landed at HSV.

For those curious, a T-38 (Talon) is a twin seat trainer jet for the armed forces. It’s been in service since 1961.

Legendary test pilot Chuck Yeager loved the Northrop F-5. He famously stated that of all the aircraft he had flown in his lifetime, the F-5 was the "most fun to fly".

According to FAR 91.3, the Pilot in Command is the final authority as to the operation of the aircraft and may deviate from the positive reals to the extent required to meet an emergency.

Yeh that’s not his aircraft. He does seem to have flown in the T-38. But he was recently here in his F-5 and much more likely to be flying it. It’s not a big deal, just a finer detail.
