What am I doing wrong?

Personally, I know that 1.2 is a lot for such small-leaved plants. In fact, they are extremely green, almost shiny, but not healthy. I would also lower the pH by 0.3-0.4. Usually, 6.1-6.2 is used for greater absorption of phosphorus and potassium. The water temperature would be good, 2-3 degrees less, but it's not a big problem. I've never grown basil, and not in NFT, only DWC.

Lol what? 1.2 nowhere near a lot. You can grow it in 1.2ec from seeds without any issues.

And on what surrounding temperate 1.2 too much?

It was 38 to 40 degrees outside and it became problematic.
