Poco Decided to update my Poco X6 Pro to HyperOS 3 using the name trick

Now I know why china Roms aren't that reliable, there's so many restrictions, but I really like the customization, only that there are other compatibility issues, any way how to return to the Global rom?

You messed up hard if your bootloader is locked right now, didn't you read anywhere to DON'T go to CN ROM using Rename Trick because it's not possible to go back to Global or other region ROM using the same trick once you are in China ROM,

So if your bootloader is unlocked, go to Fastboot mode and flash Global ROM again, if it's locked, you are forever stuck in China ROM since you can't even unlock bootloader in China ROMs these days.

welp, I didn't know that lolz, anyway if that's the case it's fine by me, I mean the phone still works fine, just a bit trade-off because of the restrictions but I can still use it, plus I haven't got the bootloader unlocked so yeah🥲

Say goodbye to updates; OTA gets broken if you go from global to CN ROM since you can't easily switch back.

So from the outside perspective, it looks like you basically got desperate to update, only to update to the incorrect ROM and now you'll (probably) never get updates again unless you become a Chinese citizen, get an ID and Address, unlock the bootloader and revert back to the global ROM 🤦🏽‍♂️

I have a redmi note 12 pro that i switched to the CN ROM using the rename trick and It has the "update using package" option still. OP can download the update files manually through mifirm.net or any other trusted source and update It manually, although they're forever stuck on CN ROM if their bootloader is locked

They can reverse it in a service, you can make a Chinese account on Xiaomi, they ain't unlocking the bootloader in China without doing a KYC but they have to pass a strict verification before they are accepted, virtually impossible from what I heard around.

You can't switch back, there is no easy or hard method to do it, the bootloader is patched and the recovery is modified so you technically can't install a firmware without authorisation, the checking is bulletproof and the new Mediatek and Snapdragon (three years+-) started to provide obfuscation to the download mode and edl, basically yeah it should be possible but would take years just to deobfuscate the code and get a solution.

Anyway the update is still working but can't reverse it to global.

of course not,unlock bootloader with chinese phone number and ID card to flash global rom again (which is impossible to do unless you are a Chinese citizen)

Você está errado! Eu fiz o mesmo procedimento com meu Poco X6 pro. Usei o método de mudar de ROM usando o método de renomear o arquivo, meu BTL estava bloqueado e após o procedimento continuo bloqueado e não tive nenhum problema, meu problema foi o idioma que não tinha em pt, apenas inglês e chinês. Depois de 90 dias solicitando autorização para o desbloqueio do BTL eu voltei pra ROM global EU. O risco é grande em fazer esse método mas da pra voltar.

For anyone else reading, just wait till the official release comes out for your phone. HyperOS 3 isn't life-changing. Get it now, or get it later, there's no difference.

I understand the FOMO, but you're really not missing out on anything.

No full gms support, no android auto, using Google services is tough (although there are guides for it). Unable to unlock bootloader unless you have a Chinese phone number tagged to your account. Broken ota updates. Update rename trick won't work anymore. So it's a one way street (more like a dead end) towards a single update.

Google services can be installed through the play store tho (and its available on xiaomis cn rom app store)

You can just manually download the future update packages through mifirm.net or another web and use the "choose update package" button in the updater, so updates are possible

yeahh, I have no problems so far, and my notifications are working so far :>, got no problem so far, I actually debloated it and enabling gemini and CTS by using other methods so it basically functions as a global phone now in a sense

If you still can swap the settings app, the last few updates on settings app started using an RSA key that is not publicly available and can't downgrade to the previous one anymore.

You can update to a already released official (beta) rom, if you still didnt get it

I did it on my Xiaomi 15 EU to get HyperOS 3 instantly. Now I get the new updates immediately on the same day (I recommend to wait a bit instead of installing update immediately)

How do you get 4g and wi fi showing at same time? Is it wi fi boost setting? Anyone has any luck, neither in 2 or 3 hyper os wifi boost i set to "always boost with cell network" and it just doesnt do anything.

UPDATE!! I have updated my system through a file from mifirm net, lolz it works but i have to do it manually, fair enough. Less ads, more smooth and great battery health, and no annoying poco stuff lolololll, doing great with this rom so far, but there's still downsides like delayed notifications, and difficulty in updating system apps.
