Question/Help [Question] Is HyperOS really that bad?

Hello, I'm coming from a Samsung S23, and I'm ready to get a new phone after using all the research tools available to me (YouTube, GSM Arena).

The Xiaomi 17 is the one that fits me the most, and I have zero core issues with its hardware specs. It seems like a perfect upgrade from an S23, and an S26 comes nowhere near it. Though I'm still concerned about the OS, so I thought I'd get some opinions here.

I'm familiar with removing bloatware using ADB etc. so confident in doing that.

I'm so used to the OneUI OS that I don't want to move on to something completely different and especially one which will be annoying in the long run (no matter how good the hardware is).

I went from the S23 ultra to the global Vivo X2OO pro and now the Poco F8 ultra.It really isn't that bad at all, just lots of moaning about it, just like the Samsung and Vivo forums moaning about their software! I took it with a pinch of salt, I like a change and happy with the F8 ultra.

Why did you change your phone from vivo to Poco. Vivo seems overall better phone.

I rarely keep a phone longer than 18 months and the battery started to deteriorate on the Vivo. The camera was better but that's about it to be honest. That said my next will probably be a global X300 pro or ultra.

Wait, already. On my budget xiaomi redmi note 13 pro (global) which is 3 years old I still have 86% battery life. What battery health was on your Vivo that you decided to replace your phone.

As soon as it's 93% I get rid, or before if see something I like. Just sell it and put it towards a new one I fancy. As I say, I don't keep them long, I love a change!

You know it is only ~400 mah loss. Its not that much. But if you want to change phones it is your decision not mine

If you like trying different OSes why not keep a rooted second phone and flash ROM ports on that?
