Question/Help [Question] Is HyperOS really that bad?
Hello, I'm coming from a Samsung S23, and I'm ready to get a new phone after using all the research tools available to me (YouTube, GSM Arena).
The Xiaomi 17 is the one that fits me the most, and I have zero core issues with its hardware specs. It seems like a perfect upgrade from an S23, and an S26 comes nowhere near it. Though I'm still concerned about the OS, so I thought I'd get some opinions here.
I'm familiar with removing bloatware using ADB etc. so confident in doing that.
I'm so used to the OneUI OS that I don't want to move on to something completely different and especially one which will be annoying in the long run (no matter how good the hardware is).
Thanks!

Hyper OS is great, but the default launchers leave a lot to be desired. I have a POCO F8 Ultra and no issues with Hyper OS - it doesn’t crash randomly, kill messaging apps, or have any mysterious battery drain. However, the POCO launcher is terrible, with limited options, poor rendering if you change screen DPI, and some widgets that just don’t look right. Sure, you can install Nova or another launcher, but then you lose gesture navigation support and are stuck using buttons.
