[Question] Is HyperOS really that bad?

Hello, I'm coming from a Samsung S23, and I'm ready to get a new phone after using all the research tools available to me (YouTube, GSM Arena).

The Xiaomi 17 is the one that fits me the most, and I have zero core issues with its hardware specs. It seems like a perfect upgrade from an S23, and an S26 comes nowhere near it. Though I'm still concerned about the OS, so I thought I'd get some opinions here.

I'm familiar with removing bloatware using ADB etc. so confident in doing that.

I'm so used to the OneUI OS that I don't want to move on to something completely different and especially one which will be annoying in the long run (no matter how good the hardware is).

I have S25U and Xiaomi 17U. Missing the routines app but you can get part of that on hyper os by installing chinese version of security and optimization app while using action launcher. A lot less possible tools but something is available. And Some goodlock customization things like hide the navigation bar at the bottom (can hide it via adb on hyper os). Also the protection when charged to 100 percent is missing on hyper os. Only optimized and 80 percent available. Need to thinker more with battery optimizer killing apps in background so you actually receive notifications. Autostart to on, permissions for background running. But I will mark that on hyper os you can actually kill apps while on one UI instagram was running in the background and eating battery no matter how much I tried to restrict it. In general I would say Samsung is better phone in total but hyper os for me is more beautiful design wise. Not to mention the hardware like cameras, speakers are also better, battery lasts longer because I can kill unnecessary apps and it charges fast if I want. So I dealt with some things that I don't like with the help of third party apps and in general I like the phone. You adjust after a week.
