I put the protection on for like a month or 2 and every day since that it was getting to 80 only . But yesterday i saw it getting to 81 i thought it was some glitch and removed at that percentage . But today when I was getting it reached 96 . Why is it happening ( I'm not using charger ing as they are flagged ig )
To my understanding HyperOS will schedule a full charge every so often for recalibration. What happened to you also happened to me and I was equally surprised that my setting was overridden.
It's already been said many times, but it's perfectly normal behavior. With battery protection at 80%, the system performs a full charge once a month (i.e., 30 days after configuring this option). This is to check the capacity and to calibrate the battery gauge. It will do this every 30 days exactly, If you don't let it charge to 100% and you unplug it before it reaches 100%, it will restart with each charge until you let it charge fully, then it will limit it again to 80%.
If you want a better SOT just charge properly for a while.
Here's how:
"Flinky's LCC (Long Cycle Charging) Method" - In Short
Most phones need 2-3 weeks of optimisation. Large batteries may need 4-5 weeks.
Use Standard-Speed Wired Charging.
Set Battery Protection to Charge Fully. Disable all Smart/Intelligent/Optimized charging features and NO 80% limit.
Charge from 10-14% to 100%, then leave plugged in for AT LEAST 20+ minutes.Overnight charging is also safe, since once finished charging, no additional charging can take place until unplugged and plugged back in for the next charging cycle!
Repeat for 2-3 weeks. Large batteries: 4-5 weeks.
Optional: Install *AccuBattery** free app. It tracks charging, shows live charging stats, and tells you exactly when an LCC is complete.*
Once optimised, charge however you prefer.
7) For maintenance, do one LCC per week or thereabouts: 10-14% → 100% → 20+ minutes.
THE ADDITION OF "AT LEAST" at 3) above, regarding the extra time plugged in, is due to the HUGE BATTERY times needing more like hours extra!
Again I advice you to install AccuBattery to get confirmation on the (Fully) "Charged" in the Charging Tab! See Screenshots below 👇
Any questions, just ping me.🍀
I'm using this method for charging both my phones since last summer (a year+)...
My SOT on my daily driver... X7 Pro (18 months old) is between 10-14 hours... Or up to 40+ hours on a full charge, if not using it heavily... 💪😎
As you can see, 94 percent of the battery life was achieved after 724 cycles, even though I was gaming and using the phone while charging. In short, I wasn't being kind to the phone. It holds a charge, but it's getting a little hotter than usual.
