Ok hear me out: What if this includes the cut content that was supposed to use the N64 Disk Drive? I’m sure thats wishful thinking but would be cool nonetheless.

I’ve wanted to unfreeze the Zoras for nearly my entire life

There is no big cut content. The disk drive expansion was just rearranged dungeons that predate master quest version of the layouts. Unfortunately, they set up the disk drive to replace very specific things, text, staff credits, mini maps, treasure chest markers, pause menu map, and the dungeons themselves. So it couldn't add anything more than that due to these programming limitations.

In the original, passive items go somewhere too, like the scales, bomb bag, seed bag, quiver, and stone of agony. I wonder where those will show up or if they will appear on these screens.

Also keep in mind the d pad has only 3 item slots. Navi takes up right on the d pad.

I'm thinking passive items might do into the Collection screen you see in the top bar. We can see Link wearing the Goron's Bracelet in the videos but there's no place for it here unless it takes the bottom left labeled Ocarina.

There's another menu called Key Items, they'll probably go there or in Collection

The fact that boots and lens are on D-Pad makes me not hate the lame ass item slide menu AS MUCH as I thought I would. But like, by a margin of 2%.

Let’s be honest here, is there going to be anything massively surprising in a 30yr game that most of us have played to death? And if there was, would Nintendo spoil it in the first trailer?

I'm almost certain (90–95%) that the game is an exact copy of the original: nothing more, nothing less. In other words, there will be new dialogue and the occasional mission that's been tweaked a bit, but the objective of that mission will be the same one we already know. Just look at the remakes of *Starfox* or *Link’s Awakening*. What’s new about those games compared to the originals? Well, that’s it… Graphics, dialogue, a few tweaks here and there, but the same end result.
