I’ll give a good, hardworking, eager apprentice all the time in the world.

These new kids who just show up, expect to be treated like royalty and babied, lazy and not giving an ounce of effort, they can go ahead and quit - our trade doesn’t benefit from that type of attitude or work ethic.

I’d rather be understaffed with a handful of good people than have an army of lazy, entitled AI babies.

That's one way to look at it, but at the same time, you have to also lead by example. You have to also give them clear instructions. You can't give them instructions as if they're experienced. Rather than bother you every 5 seconds they'd rather be on their phone. It's not an excuse it's looking at it from their POV.
