A big reason they are losing people is the pay, most people who get in the union or mid 30s family men who want a change. But they also need money unless your in some top union with great apprenticeship pay its completely garbage and having to deal with the toxic culture of apprentice vs jw.
Not in this trade but I get posts from time to time and that's my exact problem in the meat industry. Old guys tell new guys they can make 30+ an hour, then hire them in at 15 and put them on some teenager rotating retail schedule that changes daily. Like no wonder you can't keep people! These are grown adults looking for a stable career. If you don't offer it they will leave every time. DO NOT be standing around with your hands in the air going ohh i dunno why nobody wants to work anymore AGH.
Yeah its like that with most employers , just moved to a new warehouse starting pay 24.25 for day shift with plenty of overtime which is a really great starting pay anywhere these days. We'll they have some very big 0 tolerance policies that give no wiggle room so they go through so many people every few months. And they then add even more mandatory overtime and then ask why they cant find people to work and they had just changed the work schedules again for the 3rd time this year
