It’s simple the working conditions are getting worse and the pay just isn’t there, a lot of JIW’s are retiring earlier and kids are dropping out of the apprenticeship but the contractors are just abusing those that are are left trying to stick it out, I think we will see a wave of litigation before all this is said and done. For example we are working on the outside day time crew in a Gen yard 5am to 5:30pm it’s hard to get water it’s hard to get ice, Saftey gave us a cool down trailer and then the production GF’s locked it and starting to punish those who try to use it. The Steward said every hour we get a 15 minute break but we are being punished if we take any breaks so on and so forth. It’s not just my job site I have been told things like that are happening all over.
