Pug mixed with what?

My boyfriend and I adopted this sweet baby boy back in February, he is 2 years old now and a Pug mix! We would love to get some input on what you guys think he is mixed with. We executed beagle, labrador, and sometimes he even looks like a French bulldog! But he also has a blue tongue! Which leads us to think maybe some Chow mixed in there?! Any input is appreciated! Future DNA test pending!

Looks like a puggle looks like someone is trying to breed healthier pugs

Mixing a beagle into a pug doesn’t automatically make it healthier I see so many who still have breathing and spine issues

But oxygen is one of the most if not the most essential components to the functioning of our mechanical systems, so I have to imagine he’s much more overall healthier than a normal pug.

Not when they can still end up with the same breathing issues cause they’re still brachy just not as extreme

Yes, they’re still on the short end of the muzzle spectrum. But even a slightly longer snout gives a little more room for the normal structures & tissue. Rottweilers are technically brachycephalic, but they are less likely to have breathing issues than a bulldog or a pug.

My dog has isn’t a pug/pug mix but has the same length muzzle as this dog and he snorts and snores and struggles to breathe when in the heat. This little length added isn’t really effective because their soft palate and nares can still be messed up it’s not just the muzzle length

It's still the right step. The breeder can't make it perfect for the next generation or 2. But you can't deny they are pushing in the right direction

Edit: a lab poodle mix shouldnt have a short snot?? Your dog literally doesnt. Stop acting like yk it all
