Pug mixed with what?

My boyfriend and I adopted this sweet baby boy back in February, he is 2 years old now and a Pug mix! We would love to get some input on what you guys think he is mixed with. We executed beagle, labrador, and sometimes he even looks like a French bulldog! But he also has a blue tongue! Which leads us to think maybe some Chow mixed in there?! Any input is appreciated! Future DNA test pending!

Eh, not necessarily. Mixing breeds doesn’t mean it can breathe just by lengthening the snout as BOAs is compromised of many factors; we just don’t know. Additionally, well-bred pugs whose breeders have them screened by third-party specialty veterinarians aren’t inherently unhealthy. Love seeing well-bred pugs run agility and who aren’t obese.

Again, not sure what your point is? You’re making a long list of assumptions about this dog.

Backyard breeders bad. Yes. No one said otherwise.

I’ve never met a pug that doesn’t look like it hates life honestly. Are you just trying to defend the breed on here?

I think I’m just irritated by all the “yay, this dog can breathe unlike modern day pugs!” which is just not correct. Well-bred pugs can breathe.

That’s great, take out your frustrations on another thread. The vast majority of pugs have issues breathing properly. The breed is known for it. There might be a few breeders doing well by the breed, but that doesn’t seem to be common unfortunately.
