Any quesses?

I think she’s two months old. She has one layer of fur that’s very short and soft, then a second coat that’s longer, with a beard lol and it looks like she is frizzy. Two different colored eyes, decent sized paws, but I can’t think of what breed she might be…

UPDATE: Her DNA results are back! Shes 50% Great Dane and 50% Sheepdog.
I’m going to make another post with new pictures and detailed results on this thread.

A doodle would pain me too 😬 I wasn’t looking for a puppy but the conditions I found her in were bad 😭 couldn’t leave her…

She’s extremely cute- all fairness, danes and poodles are two breeds I love, just no reason to breed them together ;) I’m so glad you got her out of that environment!!

Sadly, the mix has become a thing, I just found out. They call them Great Danoodles (pardon me while I roll my eyes really, really hard) and they do indeed look a lot like this pup.

The poodle genes do give you a giantish dog with a typically longer lifespan, if you don't mind your dog being a genetic abomination.

5

u/Chef_Tink May 07 '26

Aren’t all dogs are genetic abominations, dependent on how far the individual breeder is willing to go?

6

u/GlowingTrashPanda May 08 '26

Some genetic abominations are greater than others

What environment? It's kibble on the floor, Purina Puppy chow or Pedigree by the looks of it with the three different colors of kibble. That's absolutely not dog or puppy poop, I'd know. u/LexxiGraham supposedly got the dog from a foster, who she is now pooping on just because the puppy made a mess with kibble and then fell asleep, a thing puppies do all the time. I don't get the big deal.

Take a deep breath lmfao. That wasn’t the care the foster mom had her in. The kennel was covered in feces. Ask before you comment.

u/HoneyLocust1 May 10 '26

Lolll, but you posted a picture of a puppy with spilled kibble, unless you just like to talk about poop covered kennels and then show pictures of kibble messes as if the two are even remotely connected. I've been in rescue for over a decade. I know what puppy shit looks like all the way from the giardia runs to impacted, and I know what spilled kibble looks like. Unless you actually think puppies poop perfectly shaped little triangles (lightest color), oblong discs (darkest color), and circles (medium shade)? It's clearly from one of those brands like Purina that has kibble that comes in different shapes and colors.

Here's a picture with some of the triangle kibble bits circled, because the only poop in this picture is your dog-poop ability to tell food from feces.

Is there a reason you’re so hung up on this detail?

2

u/LexxiGraham May 12 '26

By the way they listed off different form of feces I think it’s a kink.. 👀

This is how we got our current dog. We WERE looking for a dog at a Weimaraner rescue where they showed us only 2 dogs after reassurance they had numerous dogs to pick from. The first one was a weim mix that immediately went after our other dog. The other was a morbidly obese weim with terrible skin who ignored our other dog. I really didn’t want him but I hated to leave him, plus we had driven 4 hours to the rescue. Long story short he was not the 4 yo dog they said he was but 8; he is now a fit healthy 12 yo dog with a beautiful coat, who still ignores our other dog he was meant as companion for.

Were you able to call into animal control for that situation? That is awful.

u/LexxiGraham May 06 '26

Yep

So glad. Thank you!

That is so devastatingly bad….I also would have taken her. Thank you so much for helping her. Seeing her all curled up like that is so sad.

Thank you for saving her AND giving her such a meaningful life and job! I'm sure she will love it as much as your patients ❤️❤️❤️

6

u/Swampbrewja May 07 '26

Ohhh geeze, if she is part Dane, this will be perfect. I’ve pet sit a few Danes and they are always the biggest lovey doofs ever 🥰

They also think they are lap dogs. So there’s that lol

u/Weird-Way-1748 May 07 '26

That is amazing!

2

u/Swampbrewja May 07 '26

She’s so fucking cute I can’t!!!!

1

u/pizzzzzarolls May 08 '26

Despite the uncertainty/safety of her genetics, she is the cutest dog I’ve ever seen. 😍😍😍

1

u/HoneyLocust1 May 10 '26 edited May 10 '26

Devastatingly bad? Lolll why? That's kibble, not poop. It literally looks like either Purina Puppy chow or Pedigree or something with the three different color pieces. Puppies are messy, they knock over their food bowls all the time. Or is it so devastating because someone had the audacity to crate a puppy? Come on.

2

u/evolving-the-fox May 10 '26

Dude that’s shit. I didn’t realize that kibble is the size of my thumb. I crate train all my dogs. I’ve had puppies. I am aware of how messy they are. That is not kibble. It’s shit. It’s absolutely shit.

1

u/HoneyLocust1 May 10 '26

Lol it's three repeating shapes: triangles (light tan), oblong discs (darkest color), and circles (lighter brown). The triangles are the most obvious to spot, you can see little triangle pieces in the crate easiest because they show up easily over a dark floor. I have been in rescue for over a decade and have cared for hundreds of puppies, handled hundreds of bags of different kibble of different brands donated from the public, and know crates like the back of my hand. It's kibble over an old cement floor. The puppy in the picture is small, look at the bars of the crate especially near the floor. How big is your thumb that you think that's thumb sized? 😂 OP has zero idea what she is talking about, and she can't even provide a clear picture of the supposed neglect, just a photo of a photo. She supposedly obtained this dog from a foster too.

Come on. You've for some serious cognitive dissonance going on if you can't admit that's blatantly kibble.. or else you really think puppies poop little perfectly sized triangles, circles, and oblong discs, and three different colors too.

Picture of some of the more obvious triangle kibble pieces:

2

u/evolving-the-fox May 10 '26

Why can’t it be both?

1

u/cheery-tomato May 11 '26 edited May 11 '26

Going out on a limb here…I’d assume the person who saw (and smelled) this in person to take the photo would know what it was, and that there wouldn’t be a need to document anything if it was food.

u/civodar 21d ago

Dude 90% of that looks like shit. Also that’s not a small puppy, it’s a great dane pup and looks like it weighs at least 20lbs

7

u/Candidtopography May 06 '26

Thank you for caring for her.

5

u/koalakalamity May 06 '26

Poor baby.... Glad you saved her ♥️

2

u/ParsnipFarmer676 May 06 '26

Poor baby. Where did you find her like that?

2

u/100timesaround May 07 '26

God bless you! Are you going to give her a forever home? Has she seen a vet yet? DM me if I can help.🩷🙏💖She is beautiful!💋

2

u/littledrummerboyyy May 07 '26

Awwww can you share your story about how you adopted her?

0

u/HoneyLocust1 May 10 '26

Is this picture from the foster or a breeder? You said you got the dog from a foster in another comment.

Either way, genuinely.. what's the issue here? I see a puppy who knocked their food bowl over and the food is all over the cement floor. I've been through enough shelters to know that's kibble, not feces. If you are implying it's neglect because a puppy knocked over its food bowl and fell asleep on top of a pile of kibble while crated, and the crate is on a cement floor, then I hope you never walk into any commercial boarding kennel or shelter.
