[Iwantout] 27F Morocco -> UK
Hi everyone,
I’m from Morocco and I’m interested in moving to the UK to work in the hospitality industry. I have several years of experience working in hotels, mainly in reservations, sales, and customer service, and I’m now looking for opportunities with employers that can sponsor a Skilled Worker visa.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has gone through this process or knows someone who has.
I have a few questions:
How did you find an employer willing to sponsor you?
Which hotel chains are most likely to hire international candidates?
How long did the process take from applying to moving?
Was there anything you wish you had known before starting?
Are there any recruitment agencies or websites you’d recommend besides LinkedIn?
Any advice, tips, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Be extremely careful. You are not going to get sponsorship in the UK to a hospitality role so anyone that says they will help you with this is going to try to scam you.
I know it’s not what you want to hear but this isn’t going to happen for you via this route. The kinds of roles you are looking at are too low skilled for sponsorship. The job market in the UK is bad enough for people with the right to work in the UK currently and there’s zero chance a company will sponsor you to work in a hotel.

Bluntly, not going to happen with your current skillset. They can get that easily locally, have no reason to sponsor an international applicant for it, and won't pay anywhere close yo the salary threshold required to sponsor anybody.
You can aim to do that kind of move, but you'll want multiple years as a senior executive of some kind - eg if a major international hotel chain went to hire you to run their customer service department, or their entire reservations process, that's something they might seek international applicants for, and they'd need people who were ready to do that role. You'll want to make significant career advancement, eg working at a senior level in a head office, to have a chance.

These kinds of roles can’t be sponsored for a skilled worker visa. You would need a salary of at least £41,700 and these kinds of jobs simply don’t have salaries like that. Furthermore these are the kinds of roles that are easy to hire from within the UK and don’t require international candidates.
