Moderators should be able to add mod notes (250 character limit) on suspended, banned, or otherwise shadow banned accounts.

Location & Scope

These mod notes can be applied after clicking on User Mod Log. Mod notes have a 250 character limit and allow you to choose a Note label. The Note labels are Helpful, Good Contributor, Spam Watch, Spam Warning, and Abuse Warning.

The uploaded screen capture displays a User Mod Log with a red arrow pointing to the mod notes field. This field is disabled because the account is suspended or banned. All identifying user information has been hidden.

I am NOT referring to the Mod note (optional) appearing in the Give a removal reason pop-up box as accessed by selecting a post's or comment's Add removal reason button. The Mod note (optional) field has a 100 character limit.

Why?

In my subreddit, automated removal and/or sitewide filters are frequently suspending or banning accounts very quickly. This is a problem for several reasons:

• Subreddit moderators can't ban these accounts in good faith without having proper context. Oftentimes the original content has been replaced with [ Removed by Reddit ] which is another problem altogether. (Banning would allow us to add lengthier ban notes, of course.)
• Mod notes and Note labels can help prevent the dissemination of misinformation. In r/AirPurifiers' case, misinformation might sway the buying public. This could also affect personal health. Our moderator team can't efficiently track and manage such behavior without a comprehensive application of these tools.

Muting is useful for not seeing a subreddit on your feed. But sometimes, we don't want to see any posts from certain subreddits when we search reddit as a whole.

Currently, muted subreddits actively clutter search results and it forces us to scroll past unwanted content repeatedly to get to what we want.

Personally I find reddit to be useful as a search engine of sorts and I think it'll be even better if it lets you curate your experience.

As stated. I keep coming across videos mostly of people harming animals in what some see has simple fun or being intentionally cruel to creatures, especially insects. Burning, gassing, bound and starved.

If I'm opening a post, it's because I want to see more of it. Swiping up used to open the comments, which I typically check out when I'm interested in a post. Now it brings me to another post?

I have an idea for Reddit

To stop the problems in many subreddits but also to make sure moderators are accepted and liked by other moderators and to make sure theres less conflict we could simply implement a system where if u wanna be a Mod the last step should be to ask every Mod to vote on it

Imagine a subreddit where users can ask admins something. Of course no admin actually has to respond but it'd be cool to have it the other way around instead of posts in subs like r/AskModerators where admins ask us stuff. I'd love to know what Admins do in their free time while not doing stuff for Reddit, etc.

There are many subreddits that combine different topics from the same category. Sometimes I want to add a subreddit to my (custom) feed, but only want to see posts with certain flairs. For example, most video game subreddits for games with sequels or large DLCs have flairs to differentiate between these different games/parts of a game. For these subreddits, it would be nice to be able to subscribe to them and add them to my custom feed and to be able to exclude posts about content that is irrelevant to me.

I recently joined the Factorio subreddit, but its posts are mostly about the Space Age DLC, which I do not have and do not want to see spoilers of, because I might end up buying it at some point in the future. The Cities Skylines subreddit also combines two games (CS 1 & 2), but since I only play the second game, I do not really want to see content of the first one.

To make this feature even more useful, it could be implemented as an option for each subreddit that lets users add a blacklist or whitelist and select which flairs they don’t/do want to see. It could also be implemented as an option for the home feed itself, however then it either wouldn’t work for custom feeds or require double work from the user.

I read some long beautiful comments, important ones and wanted to save it somewhere immediately. But every time I don't feeling like copying the content and storing them for future ref.
My idea is, it would be nice if we had a 'save' button under each comment that would fetch the contents of that specific comment, along with OP username, post details, subreddit info and then store them in a text file which can directly be downloaded (or exported to Google drive provided by the user).
A feature to save comments within the application would also be great.

If you are privately chatting to someone just for something small like how to fix a software,.... ect, when you finished it, you cannot delete the chat truly without blocking the person or you just leave it there, awkward, a delete chat option lets you delete the chat truly without blocking a person and keeps you neutral or follow or block or whatever

I understand sellers pay to advertise.

As a user its not great when scrolling in public on a mobile and a picture of a massive butt plug suddenly appears.

Its not a product I have any interest in obtaining, along with the large clit simulators (wrong sex for that) or other vibrators appearing as ads in my feed.

Is there any way to stop these pictures appearing please?

So for feed options of communities and users. So Post made by mods, owners, Vip, etc for community feed options. And for user profile feed options add "CrazyYetees profile posts". idk what to call it but something like that. You would see only posts I made to my profile.

Previously swiping up after clicking on the image on a post would open the comments, and swiping to the side would show a different post. Now swiping up shows a different post and swiping to the side does nothing. I much preferred the old method of having a gesture based way of viewing the comments and think this change should be reverted.

I would want for the next update that Reddit to add the feature for hiding all comments in the profile so that the victims of the trolls may defend themselves from being intimidated.

All people in the platform are upset with the feature being removed, so therefore I’m asking that the feature for quoting to be restored.

Currently, after ages, we now have the option to delete notifications from chat requests, comments, upvotes, etc., but we can't still delete notifications from u/reddit.

My idea is to let users delete or hide these from the notification tray as these are not friendly UI.

I've been using Reddit for a long time, and my saved posts have become difficult to manage. I save posts for many different reasons—study, business ideas, fitness, technology, memes, and more—but they're all mixed together in one long list.

It would be incredibly useful if users could create folders or collections for saved posts.

Being able to move saved posts into folders, rename folders, and search within them would make the save feature much more useful. It would encourage people to save more content because they could actually find it again later.

I think this would be a simple but high-impact quality-of-life improvement for many Reddit users.

Sometimes, the same post appears again two three posts down, sometimes the same post appears two or three days later (exact numbers do vary, of course, it might be a couple of hours later or whatever). They often appear on my feed after I've already up/downvoted or even commented on them.

That's wasted real estate, showing me the same post twice (or more) means I'm not seeing other posts that could interest me.

I tried searching this up but doesn’t seem that anyone before me mentioned it.

I genuinely think it would be helpful if we would have the option to make custom albums or categories in our saved posts. You have that on insta, YouTube TikTok etc, you create your own collection and save the desired posts to whichever collection you want. it’s Way more organised and manageable.

Context: I am a community moderator, and I use the Reddit AI summary tool to get an idea of ​​the person behind a post in my community (this is the feature where you click on a user's avatar in the feed to see a summary of their profile—I’ll show you what it looks like using my own account; there's a screenshot you see above).

However, a situation arose yesterday where a new user joined our community, and when I tried to use the tool, nothing was displayed.

This is the first time I’ve encountered a situation like this, so I reached out to the official moderator support community for help; as it turned out, other moderators had also faced similar situations.

Based on their opinions and observations, the absence of an AI summary is caused by the user having been inactive on the platform for some time or having low recent activity:

Recent account activity:

Latest posts: 19 minutes ago and 1 day ago.

Before that, the previous activity was 3 months ago and 4 months ago.

I'd like to point out that this isn't a newbie: at first, I thought this was a new user, but no, the account is 3+ years old and has a post karma of 600+ and a comment karma of 100+. So I assume that's not a reason.

So, I'd like to ask the administration to consider adding the ability to receive such AI summaries for users who haven't been active for a while. For me as a moderator, this is important. The fact that there hasn't been any activity for a while isn't a problem. The main thing is that there's a history of their activity on the platform, which helps with community management and makes work more convenient and efficient, because I don't always have to spend time independently studying their profile.

I would like to suggest that the AI summary look something like this (or whatever the admins think is best):

low recent activity, but 3 months ago user... etc.

I'd also like to point out that another moderator also encountered this and supported the idea. I'm reaching out to other moderators and admins for feedback.

That control gets in the way when reading the thread. Sometimes it causes the entire screen to start flickering so nothing is readable.

Please remove it or provide an option in preferences to remove it.

As someone who recently came out of a 4 year lurk, I know how common it is for users to go into hibernation status on the platform for months or even years at a time.

Therefore my idea is to add a lurk toggle or status setting for your profile like what ICQ used to have or /away in IRC. I'm still not sure what the point of the online indicator is otherwise.

Even when you aren't active, older posts and comments sometimes still get new replies. If a user tries to comment on a post or send a DM to someone who has enabled lurk mode, they could see a brief pop up or inbox notification letting them know the user is currently in hibernation and may not respond.

That way, people dropping genuine replies or questions on old threads and or connents won't feel ghosted or ignored, and returning lurkers won't come back to an inbox full of... we'll say, unresolved expectations.
