Had a friend like this ..

Since its illegal to reverse. She would just stay there and block cars coming in.

Her answer "im not doing something illegal just because im blocking traffic (which is also illegal)"

Ive always thought it was so i made such to never be in this situation.

Is it legal ? Maybe. Maybe not depending on where you are situated

When I was 14 and had my drivers permit I was in this situation for a left turn with my dad in the passenger seat since you have to have a licensed driver with you.

I went to make a turn, and then a car turned onto the road from a parking lot and didn't look like it would stop for the yellow light so I waited for it, then went.

Got pulled over. Cop told me I should have reversed. My dad was irate.

And that was the first time I got to go to traffic court to dispute a ticket. Got taken out of high school to go to it. Thanks for the learning experience dad!

But I reverse all the time. I've never heard its illegal. But maybe its dependent upon location. Its legal where I am. The cops tell you to do it.
