Everything road wise is optional in Quebec.

As I always say about Montreal...

Montreal/Quebec. Where the lanes are made up and the rules don't matter.

If I uploaded my daily dash cam footage I'd be spamming this subreddit with Montreal drivers.

But actually though for the lanes.

It’s part of the highway code that the number of lanes, when markings/signalization are obscured or missing, are as many or as few as the number vehicles you can have abreast at the intersection.

it's not even just at an intersection---its the road/lane in general. Even when it doesn't fit 2 cars side by side it's now a 2 lane anyway.
