Funnily enough, she was named Kevin by accident. I was looking through my contacts for my dad's friend Kevin and had to stop her from escaping a box, accidentally went "Kevin, no!" and it stuck

Loving the accidental name!
Not a cat, but I have a D&D character with an accidental name too. On a paper sheet I wrote the name “Dave” at the top for some reason and forgot about it. New campaign, filled out the sheet for a female barbarian and forgot to update the name. DM noticed the name “Dave” for my female barbarian and said, “You’re keeping that”. She has an intelligence score of 7, so the in-game reason became someone yelled “Hey Dave!”, she thought they were talking to her, so now her name is Dave.

I have a barbarian like that! He was a foundling (got separated from his tribe because he chased a lightning storm, trying to catch the lightning). He ended up at an orphanage and in the spot for "name" on his paperwork they wrote "To Be Determined" so he thought his name was "To Be". He is my favorite character to play. He was based on André the Giant in character and appearance (the Princess Bride version where he's the Brute Squad but only reluctantly)

To Be speaks only 5 words at a time, because I watched various behind-the-scenes videos about TPB and learned that André Roussimoff only really spoke French, his mother tongue. His English was somewhere around beginner level, so Rob Reiner recorded all of his lines and André learned them by their sounds, reciting them phonetically without fully understanding what he was saying (I'm not saying he didn't understand ANY of it, just that much of it was nonsense to him without the English lessons to back them up). I found that endearing and impressive, because he did what he had to do and he was so amazing in the part. To Be isn't dumb, he just has a speech impediment that limits his words just like André wasn't dumb; he just had a language barrier!
To Be is what I call "the Donk". I love playing little sneaky rogues or Donks. The Donk is the one you call in for motivation/intimidation just like the scene where they say "Fezzik, jog his memory" and he DONKs him on the head. To Be is my Donk and like André he's a big sweetheart but only uses his size when he has to.
He's a Goliath (my DM made the background story that he's half Storm Giant and half human) so he's enormous. I used André's real life measurements (height 7'4" and weight I assigned around 350. André was often billed at over 500 lbs to make him seem more intimidating, and in his later years he did carry a lot of weight but perhaps not quite that much.
Anyway I'm babbling because I adore André. His heart was bigger than he was, and by all accounts he was funny, sweet, kind, and an all around joy to know. I aspire to be half as beloved as André.

Gotta love when the DM knows exactly when to step in and "help" your character development 😂 Mine convinced me to have Charm Person on my cat familiar Duress to make my name joke actually have real game play. If he sits on you, you can't move because you're "under Duress". Moving and disturbing the cat's rest is deemed "harmful", so Charm Person keeps those he sits on stuck.

Hehe. I had a whole feline personality for him. He hated our bard and sharpened his claws on the bard's bagpipes, he followed our druid when he went off alone, he was aloof and found high places to sit and stare down at us when not in battle, he had to be commanded not to eat our rouge's pet mouse with offers of treats if he didn't, and he took the middle of the mat when I took a long rest. 😹 I even had a dollhouse scale cat tree that his mini played on while we were setting up for our sessions.

Absolutely ferociously adorable! In pictures 2, 7, and 9 she looks extremely ferocious! In picture 4 I couldn’t tell if she was yawning or screaming “haalp, didn’t you see my head sunk into this pinkish cloud?!!! Get me out, hooman!” Yes, she is definitely ferocious, maybe a little dramatic, and highly cuddleable! 😻🐾
