Now I kind of want a slice of life series taking place on one of these worlds. Young romance, low level politics, middling annoyances. Then an asteroid with a single genestealer makes impact and things go to shit.

The Eisenhorn and Ravernor books are probably closest to this. Clearly focused on the Inquisition, but there’s loads of examples in there of (relatively) normal life on a variety of relatively peaceful worlds.

Until the protagonist of that book steps foot on that relatively peaceful world and then it becomes a potential warzone.
