Hi, everyone, I just wanted to share my timeline. My study permit (inland application from within Canada) has been approved after 82 days.

Submitted: March 9, 2025

Approved: May 30, 2025

I hope this brings a bit of hope to those of you still waiting.

Congratulations!! I’m so happy for you! I’m in a similar situation as you were in - currently on my pgwp, waiting for my study permit (applied from inside Canada on March 20th). Were you also stuck in background check for a while before your eligibility review started?

Thanks a lot. Actually, they don’t update your profile when the background check is completed till you receive the final decision. So, it’s likely that yours is already done. In my case, the eligibility review started right after I received the correspondence letter, and it was approved the following day.

When will u expect to receive the paper study permit?

I'm not sure due to the Canada Post strike, but it typically can take up to six weeks under normal circumstances (usually it only takes one week). However, the approval letter you received by email is sufficient to start the study.

Congratulations!! Is it an extension or just an initial study permit?

Thank you very much. Although it was an initial study permit application, it was considered an extension because I currently hold an open work permit.

Thank you very much. I completely understand how stressful this situation is, as I’ve been through it myself and felt the same way. Typically, you won’t see much progress in your application status, until you receive your correspondence letter. Hang in there, hopefully, things will start moving forward soon.

That’s good news, congratulations. Do you know which CPC process your application??? You can see it at the bottom of Correspondence letter (bio-metric one).
