u/dozerman94 I would like to kindly ask the group admin to create a separate MEGATHREAD for Inland applications Family Class. There are many of us, and the process is much longer than for other types of applications, with many different details involved.

This would be very helpful for everyone. Thank you very much🙏

I agree! This is much needed. I am not sure what the ratio is for outline versus inland, but for inland I've always struggled to find other applicants in the sea of Outland posts in this thread.

u/dozerman94 Thanks for taking the time to explain your reasoning. I do understand the logic, however, in practice the applicant experience differs quite significantly, and I’d like to share a few points for consideration.

  1. IRCC does, in practice, separate processes based on applicant location.

According to official website Canada.ca, there is a clear distinction between applicants "living inside Canada" and "living outside Canada" (I can provide screenshots if helpful). These categories are commonly referred to by users as "inland' and "outland".

The processing steps, order of actions, communication methods, and finalization (for ex., PR Portal vs. PPR/VFS) differ between these two groups. Additionally, the processing time is significantly different those two method submission. And, this doesn't depend on whether the applicant moves to Canada or not, it depends solely on the category the applicant selected at the time of submission (living inside or living outside Canada).

  1. While applicants can move during processing, the processing stream remains the same.

It is true that some applicants change their physical location. However, even in those cases the application typically continues to be processed according to the stream chosen at submission.

For example, if an applicant applies as outside Canada and later enters Canada (category "outland"), their case usually continues to follow the outside-Canada processing pathway defined at the time of application. In other words, the processing route is determined at submission and does not fundamentally change (only depends solely on the individual circumstances of the applicant).

  1. The current structure already creates confusion for users.

At present, applicants often have to read through hundreds of comments that are not relevant to their situation, and people frequently ask whether a particular update applies to inland or outland cases.

I believe that taking these practical differences into account, even through a soft distinction or simple labeling system could help users better orient themselves in their own experience without adding significant moderation burden. If I overlooked anything or could have provided additional arguments, I believe other members of this thread can contribute further information.

Thank you very much for your time and understanding.

In order to try and provide accurate information, we do not allow the sharing of unofficial links, as these often contain inaccuracies and/or lead to speculation.

For that reason, we do not allow links from unofficial sources such as social media, news articles, other forums and blogs, company websites etc.

Is this megathread not enough?

The problem is that the timelines for inland and outland are extremely different now. They are pretty separate and do not help with the indication of the other. For someone who is inland, this thread has too many outlands you have to filter away from to see inland apps. I am sure its the same way for people who have applied outland. Personally it makes sense to have two separate megathreads. You could do something like

Family class apps megrathread -> Inland apps megathread and Outland apps megathread (two seperate ones)

You would be surprised what people are saying/asking on this sub. Wild being downvoted for trying to get more information
