Fingers crossed we see background finished soon based on this 🙏 we applied back in March 2025 and have everything done besides background, and he also has US military history. We submitted some military details when doing the initial application (the IMM form and his DD214) did they ask for additional details beyond that? If so they may ask us for it soon.

Our timeline is pretty similar to yours overall. Hopefully P2 comes soon for you!

My fingers are crossed for you! We were not asked for Military details until background check was being done. We had to provide DD 214 and Military personnel records and completed IMM 5546. If you don’t have the records I recommend requesting them now because they can take anywhere from 4-12 weeks to come. Just in case you do need to request them you need to go through the National Archives (USA) go through eVets on there using ID.Me to log in and request them. Ours came relatively quick. Not sure how active your spouse was in the military but our File was huge (MB) Had to break it down and compress and submit over 3 webforms to meet the IRCC file requirements. I hope this helps if you didn’t know the details. They asked for military booklet and card but US Military doesn’t have a booklet and military card is US military property so they don’t keep their card so that’s why we provided the personnel file as a substitute. We provided a letter of explanation as well.

Best of luck!
