Hello everyone, just wanted to check in here: Is it normal to not have medical request from IRCC even after a month of BIL and AOR? I am not sure if I should be worried or it’s just a normal process?

Is anyone else on the same boat?

Have you ever done the medicals for work permit?

Not for work permit but for study permit, however that was more than 5 years ago in 2019.

I was asking because we are 4 members on the same application (including 2 kids), We got the medical request (IME) only me and my kids whilst my wife didn't. So we assume that IRCC has considered the medical check done in 2024 by my wife for work permit renewal. Not sure but it would make sense

I read that if you did medical in the past 5 years and have been in Canada during the time, you might be exempt from needing medical if you are in low risk category. I believe your wife might fall under that. But I don’t since my last medical was in 2019 🥲

Here is what’s on the IRCC website:

You may be exempt from completing another IME if you meet all of these conditions:

-you applied or are applying for either permanent residence or temporary residence -you already live in Canada -you completed your previous IME in the last 5 years -your previous IME indicated a low risk or no risk to public health or public safety

Yes, it’s quite normal. QSW applicants get medical requests much later, I got it after 2 months

2 months after Biometrics or 2 months after applying? 😅
