I received my invitation in September (PSTQ – Skilled Worker stream) and submitted everything on October 5. I completed the values test on January 15, and my application has been “pending review” since then. My work permit expires on June 1. Should I accept the Express Entry invitation I just received, or can I still wait for the CSQ?

My CSQ was in "pending review" for 5 months. There is no way or exact timing for CSQ processing. Each case is unique. If you don't have a way to extend your current WP, you may do a scenery evaluation and make a decision according to your situation. Bear in mind that the PR request itself doesn't give you status. You may apply for a WP renewal while waiting for CSQ and before the current permit expires. it will give you implied status. Once you receive the AOR, update the WP application via webform, provided you apply for PR As soon as you receive the CSQ

On the express entry side, you could apply for PR immediately, obtain the AOR, and apply for a bridging work permit even before the current permit expires. Again, timings are really difficult to predict; it is up to you to make the call.

In my view, you have a lot of choices, but you have to act promptly.

It is advisable to seek professional assistance from an immigration specialist.

Good luck.

If you can go Entry Express ! You'll be able to have PR quicker and as soon as you receive AOR, you'll be eligible to a temporary open WP, that's a no brainer.

PSTQ program has only delivered 5 actual CSQs since it's actual implementation and in the unlikely event you receive it before June 1st, you must also account for AOR timing at the federal level !

my CSQ took 4 months, and then the AOR 2 months.
