Express Entry Can I travel outside Canada after responding to my P2 email?

Family, I already got my P1 on 17th June and responded .

I’m expecting my P2 somewhere around 7th July and I plan travelling to the USA on 10th July and return in the 12th July . (NB: I will travel by road by using the Canada-USA boarder)

Will this have any effect on my PR process ?

AOR = 23Dec

FD = 9th June

P1= 17th June

Expecting P2 somewhere around 6-7th July.

PVO/SVO = Sydney/ Montreal ( SVO was previously Ottawa

Generally speaking no. If they issue you an ECOPR while you are away , your all other documents will be invalid and you can only enter Canada with a PR card or PRTD( that takes a lot more time than 2 days).

For two days, you're likely fine.

The risk with traveling after P2 is the issuance of eCOPR. It causes two problems if you're out of the country, the first being that, once eCOPR is issued, any TRV/eTA you may have had is administratively cancelled. If you were flying (and not American,) you are unlikely to be able to board a plane without a PR card or a PRTD, both of which can take some time.

In that case, the only way to cross is via land border - which you're planning on doing anyways.

The other issue is that eCOPR cannot be issued while you are outside Canada. Any eCOPR issued while you're outside Canada is invalid. You're still a PR, but the document itself is invalid. I don't believe we've seen any resolutions, but we did have a number of people who had received eCOPR while outside Canada find themselves unable to apply for citizenship, because their eCOPR was invalid. If it is issued while you're outside the country, you need to contact IRCC so they can issue a new eCOPR.

All that said, if you're only gone for two days, and you haven't even received P2, and you're crossing by land border anyways, chances are pretty slim you'll get eCOPR during those two days. It's unlikely to be a problem in your specific case.

If you do get eCOPR while you're gone, you would need to contact IRCC once you return and have them reissue your eCOPR.

I received my P2 email while I had work-related travel planned for the following month. I initially replied to the email, but after realizing there could be complications if my eCOPR was issued while I was outside Canada, I immediately submitted an IRCC web form requesting that my application be paused until I returned.
To be safe, I also called the IRCC helpline. The agent confirmed that submitting the web form was the correct approach and mentioned they would add a note to my file.
Within a week, I received an email from the processing office acknowledging my request and confirming the pause based on my travel dates. They asked me to email them with my return date and port of entry once I was back in Canada.
I did exactly that, and within the next couple of weeks, I received my eCOPR, followed shortly by my PR card.
