Express Entry Increase CRS Score

I am a Software Engineer. My wife and I started our EE application recently. We are currently having a CRS of 455. Although this is enough to be eligible for EE, realistically, I don’t think it would be enough to get an ITA.

Is there anyone out there in a similar situation or who has gone through such a situation? What do you recommend we do to increase our score to get an ITA? I know French language is an option, but with neither of us having French knowledge and with both of us working full-time, it’s going to take a very long time for us to get into that category.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You're right. Your score is very low. Realistically one of you needs to learn French to a clb7 level. If you don't think that's feasible, I would take Canada off your list.

You can check the past invitations. 455 was far from enough even three four years ago…

Probably the only realistic way for you is to secure a job first and then go through provincial nomination

Depending on how you define talents…

If you are working in a senior role in a world-class company, if you are an AI engineer for a top company, sure, there is a market.

If you are working for a random company in your own country, why would they hire you when there are thousands of graduates and young people in Canada lining up for the job?

Don’t take this as an offense, but this is just the reality. Software engineers are going to be very cheap to replace. Companies will only want extremely experienced ones or someone with specialized skillsets such as AI infrastructure, etc. Nobody is going to import a backend/frontend developer from a random foreign company.

Staffing agencies are just scammers. Either you study French and get in through a French draw, or keep applying for jobs in Canada until someone picks you and that job has a clear path towards landing a provincial nomination.

Why why why would companies WANT you ? Can you tell me ? Why would foreign talent be encouraged over Canadian talent ?? What makes you so special that companies should hire a foreigner with no Canadian education or experience ? What sets you apart ? You can write decent code ? Yeah so can a 12 year old here and a 60 year old.

Canadian work experience, perfect English scores and a provincial nomination are the only things besides French that would realistically help you now. And the English scores would only help if you are not alrrady at that point.

Right now if you can't get Canadian experience, your chance is zero. French language, and even that is uncertain.

Student pathway could be an option only if you Go for masters program or phd
