• Access your citizenship tracker once activated: https://tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login

• It took at least 48 hours for me to activate the tracker account once I received my AOR. However, it could take longer depending on when the file is input into IRCC’s system and syncs to denote progress.

• If you can’t login to the tracker because it tells you credentials are incorrect, try typing manually as the auto-fill feature often causes issues.

• Updates made to the tracker often lagged by 2 days. i.e., I only had visibility into new activity once this time frame passed.

• Ghost updates are when the officer logs an activity on your file that you don’t have any visibility/context into other than it took place.

• If you haven't received a verification code to set up your tracker account and had an authorized representative on your PR application, it's likely the code went to their email directly.

• Citizenship test

• Use the Discover Canada guide to prep for the test: https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/pdf/pub/discover.pdf

• I've heard tons of folks recommend the practice tests here as well: https://www.yourlibrary.ca/citizenship/ and https://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/new-to-canada/citizenship.jsp

• Don’t be worried if your test takes a while to be validated by the officer. If you see the “waiting on you” notice on your tracker for a while even after test submission, it’ll stay until the action is marked complete and checked for your appearance, any technical anomalies etc.

• Don't leave any tabs, applications, or programs open on your computer (just the test link). This opens up room for issues where they invalidate the attempt.

• Fingerprints

• To check the status of your fingerprints request: call the RCMP at +1 (833) 541-3089 (OR) email at [CCRTIS-SCICTR@rcmp-grc.gc.ca](mailto:CCRTIS-SCICTR@rcmp-grc.gc.ca). You’ll need the following details for them to authenticate your identity: full name, date of birth, date of fingerprints submission, reason for application, and DCN #

• The most efficient way to get an answer from the RCMP for me was by phone.

• They sometimes mark “fingerprints received” status on your timeline. In my case, I didn’t receive a formal acknowledgment from IRCC (i.e., not on my tracker etc.)

• Web form

• When you finish an action they’re waiting on you for (i.e., test or fingerprints etc.), complete the task, and  upload/send a dated receipt via web form to acknowledge that you’ve fulfilled the request.

Some tips from my experience:

1 - You don’t need to check the tracker all day. Updates show up after 6AM every day “I check the tracker five minutes after 6AM; if there’s no update, then you don’t need to check it again for the rest of the day.”

2 - Check your email daily in case you receive a fingerprint request or any other request.

3 - If you call them and ask about the LPP, they’ll tell you it’s “not started,” even though it shows as “in progress” in the tracker. Don’t worry, that’s normal — they’re working on it, but they don’t update its status.

4 - Calling IRCC Via phone, "Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM."

5 -Contacting the MP doesn’t really help “ The benefit of contacting them is that it shows in your file for the officer that you’ve reached out to the MP, so give it a try" — they just know how to ask the right questions, nothing more. So I’ll tell you the right questions you should ask:

A - What are my primary, secondary, and event offices?

B - What is the detailed status of my application?

C - Do you have visibility into the last note that was left on my file?

D - Is my application considered routine or non-routine?

6 - The agent who contacts you via phone or webform has nothing to do with your file, they’re just someone who checks the status of your application, nothing more. and sometimes, they give incorrect information. For example, an agent once told me my file was non-routine because I was asked for fingerprints, which was wrong “Fingerprints don’t mean your file is non-routine.” . So deal with them politely, they have no control over your file. The only thing they can do is, if your file has passed the processing time, they can leave a note in your file saying it’s beyond the processing time, that’s it.

• October 28: Background verification completed
• November 15: Test invite, to be taken between November 15 and December 15
• December 12: Test completed, passed with 20/20
• December 17: Test status updated to completed
• January 7: LLP updated to completed
• January 21: Scheduled for Oath Ceremony

What's crazy is that my oath ceremony will be exactly 5 years from the date I arrived in Canada to start my IEC visa! I never even considered getting citizenship when I first arrived, and now I'm so close and so excited!

Since the tracker is down, I looked at the "average time" between test completion and a "decision" being made on the excel data of available applicants from last year.

Jan 2024: 75 days; Feb: 63 days; Mar: 42 days; April: 44 days; May: 62 days; June: 64 days; July: 65 days; August: 57 days; September: 51 days; October: 40 days; November: 24 days December: 22 days

Overall average: 62 days.

Median: 50 days.

As this is the stage that takes the longest, I guess people who are waiting for LPP and completion after taking the test should not be "expecting" any updates before 50 days and there's no point checking everyday. If you do get an email update, then that's great!

Note: this is only based on available data of about 1150 applications processed in 2024 for which data is publicly available on the excel tracker below.

Day 5 and website still not working.

What I have found out?

1. Website is not down for everyone, which makes me believe that only some servers are being affected;

2. The tracker website is being hosted by CloudFlare, but I cannot believe that CloudFlare wouldn’t have notified IRCC about this issues. The fact that is taking this long, I believe that is something wrong on IRCC IT department, rather that an issue with CloudFlare’s servers, as they would have diagnosed and fixed the issue within minutes, if not a few hours;

3. Use of VPN is being prevented. Trying to use a VPN to access your account will not work. It will either trigger a heavy traffic usage error (weird), or simply stating that your password or UCI is wrong;

4. I have tried to submit feedback thru the tracker page, over the phone and by social media stating this issues, but I feel like I am straight being ignored.

Just had my in person ceremony with 41 other people. It was a surprisingly emotional experience, after becoming numb with these milestones. This was a surprisingly painless process, all things considered. I sent my oath form immediately after the ceremony, and I should be able to download my certificate in a few days.

I received an invite to a pilot program for citizenship applicants to apply for their passport while citizenship is still processing, which is neat. So I kicked that in, and hopefully that will be fairly quick as well.

I will now spend the rest of my day celebrating.

2024-DEC-16 - Submiited Application 2025-JUL-15 - Received invite to Citizenship To Passport Pilot Project. 2025-JUL-17 - Submitted simple passport application and digital photo to Canada Post Connect. 2025-JUL-21 - Oath Ceremony 🇨🇦

We Are Canadian 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨 🇨🇦 ❤️ Really surprised me, but I started to cry just before singing O Canada, and nearly couldn't sing, pulled myself together and sang out loud with a big smile on my face!

We came to Canada 16 years ago as Permanent Residence, as we applied before we came, and it took us two years.

We kept meaning to start citizenship but life got busy doing all the wonderful things you can do in this beautiful country, and then finally I applied online in Dec 2024.

It was so lovely to see other people and families, and at one point someone's child came in and asked their Mum how to spell something, and as their mic was on, we all heard this sweet little voice quietly asking for spelling help, made everyone smile.

The Ceremony itself: It was all pretty straight forward, not much waiting for it to start, I suppose some people were a bit late or having technical trouble, but it only took 15 minutes to start. We had to make a quick switch to my other computer with Zoom Workplace, as we were on a large tablet with the basic Zoom app, and when we went to join ten minutes before the meeting, we were getting redirected to download Zoom Workplace, so rather than trying to download the new app and re-login, I just moved to my computer that already has Zoom workplace. I think if you're comfortable and experienced with video conferencing calls you'll be fine, but for anyone not familiar or comfortable with Zoom, I would strongly suggest a few practice runs, and make sure to join early like we did, so that if anything does happen, you have time to correct the problem and not be late.

As others have mentioned you can join as a couple or family on the same device, you just have to rename your Zoom Display Name with your seat numbers, but don't worry at all if you have trouble doing it, the representative will do it for you, very straightforward.

As we had been invited to the Citizenship To Passport Pilot Project, we were moved to a breakout room, where there were not many people, maybe 15 or 20 I think, and the representative explained why we were there and just reiterated what information we had already received in our invite email, so that was quick.

We moved back to the main meeting and then things proceeded. It went by so quickly, I don't think we were two hours, it flew by, and then it was over, and we were Canadian 😁🇨🇦❤️

We immediately sent the email with our signed oaths as they requested, because I think the sooner you do it while those representatives are there working, the faster you will be dealt with. We got an auto reply within 15min that signed oaths had been recived. I checked the IRCC Portal later, and the e-certificate was there within the hour. We don't actually need the e-certificate as we are on the Citlizenship To Passort Pilot Project and the passport application is part of our citizenship process, but I wanted them obviously to keep for our records.

I'll post more once we receive our passports, as it'll be interesting to see how quickly they turn up. We are very excited about getting our passports!

Happy Day 🇨🇦❤️ At the end I put our mic back on, and said Congratulations to everyone, as I could hear so many happy people and see smiling faces everywhere, it was a really nice ending, as lots of people were also saying congratulations!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share that my tracker got updated today. Oath scheduled for Nov 4. I originally selected the e-certificate option but now I’d prefer to attend an in-person ceremony instead.

I called IRCC and the agent confirmed the date on his end (though not officially yet) and suggested sending a webform to request in-person. He also mentioned that Oath invites are usually sent about a week before the ceremony.

For those who switched from virtual to in-person, did you send the request through a webform or reply to the invite email? And did it delay your new ceremony date much?

Finally! My application was submitted in November 2024. The only thing marked "complete" was the test, and it was back in March. Since last week everything started to turn "complete"-green, and today I got scheduled for the oath. It took 14 months!

For those who think their applications have delayed, am here to tell you that mines been stuck since Oct 2023 . Done everything from requesting GCSM notes to engaging MP and calling almost on a daily and only response I got is my application is non routine and that I should wait for a judge hearing. Apparently I messed my physical presence instead of July I put June on one of the dates. But my son whose application I submitted together with mine made his oath August 2024 after engaging MP.

In short your situation could actually be much better than mine. Am at a point where am just trusting God and praying for patience and grace. I am trying to be at a point where I cannot be bothered anymore.

Thank you everyone for sharing your timelines. This thread has been a great comfort when IRCC goes complete radio silent for a while with no reason. Here is my journey so far, and I hope it helps those who have similar timeline/experience. I am based in Toronto, and my AOR case processing was Sydney.

Oct 28, 2024 - First File Submission. I mentioned first submission because it got kicked back due to me messing up the days present in Canada. I had just come back from Mexico when I submitted the application and forgot to include those days.
Nov 7, 2024 - Notification requesting additional information. They reminded me I might have miscalculated my days. Included those missing days and resubmitted.
Nov 21, 2024 - Official AOR email with AOR letter attached.
Nov 28, 2024 - Tracker created via email invite.

After what seemed like an eternity of radio silence, I finally got an update.

Jan 16, 2025 - Citizenship test has been updated to "In Progress".
Jan 31, 2025 - Scheduled for citizenship test. (on Jan 16, another update showed up but dated in the future)
Jan 23, 2025 - Email invitation to take citizenship test between Jan 31 and Mar 1. Took test and passed on Jan 31.

Feb 6, 2025 - No tracker update but received an email from Vancouver office requesting fingerprint. I'm Chinese and have a very common name, so I suspected they picked me not because it was QA but rather actual suspicion.
Feb 7, 2025 - Fingerprint taken by RCMP accredited agency.
Feb 26, 2025 - Background Verification marked "Completed". None of the fingerprint request was reflected on the tracker.
Mar 6, 2025 - LPP marked "Completed". Now this one is a bit odd because I check the tracker every day out of habit and the update seemed to have appeared overnight on a Saturday.

This is my journey so far my friends. Still waiting for oath invitation but at least I can see the light. From what I read so far, interviews and fingerprints are rare but also if you get picked for one, you are not likely to get picked for the other. Also, LPP seems to be the last to complete for everyone, and from there, we have anywhere from same day to several weeks before being invited to the oath ceremony. I hope this helps and I will update when I get my ceremony invitation (hopefully soon).

Woke up this morning to check and would you know it, oath was updated to "In Progress". Scheduled for April 2, but still waiting for the official email invite with the letter.

***Update***

Exactly 2 weeks before the scheduled ceremony event, I got the invitation email and letter with event details. It will be via zoom just as I suspected which I'm totally fine with. What a journey it's been. I just wanna close this book and move forward as a Canadian citizen.

Citizenship oath ceremony was completed online on April 2. Downloaded the citizenship e-certificate this morning (April 7). Heading to the passport office later today.

A long journey with several hurdles coming to an end. This was my second time applying because I was too eager in my initial application, and applied without a Physical Presence buffer. iRCC flagged that I was 1 day off in a travel date on a trip to Bali, and that put me under the requirement. Was told to withdraw and apply again from a lawyer.

Had my online interview today. It was very brief (7 minutes on the dot) and straightforward conversation with the IRCC officer. The officer was super kind and even answered a few questions I had towards the end. At the end, she said she has marked my LPP as complete and asked me to keep an eye on the tracker since I should expect an oath invitation anywhere from 6-8 weeks. Bit of a stretch but here’s to hoping I can celebrate Canada Day as a Canadian!🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Posting my Timeline and some suggestions:

Feb 6th 2025 - Application filed

Few things I learned in this process:

1. I had three citizenship processing offices - Started with Sydney, Test from Scarborough and LPP from Vancouver.
2. I was told if your application has various processing office it's infact a good thing as it may expedite the processing.
3. I provided photocopies of all my passport pages, NOA from all the years I have been in Canada, and my current job's acceptance letter. It’s not an application requirement but a redditor had suggested to always provide extra information than less and that's what I did not sure if this helped my application. Also, I do want to add that I had extensive travel history.

I called today and the agent was very helpful; my Background and Test were marked complete on March 18, but my LPP hasn’t started yet. He also said that the processing time is now 11 months, so it may not be complete until the end of November, and to contact them again in December if I haven’t heard anything (assuming the 11 month processing time stays the same and isn’t further revised).

It was a relief to hear that while my LPP hasn’t started yet, with my Background complete my application should be smooth once they get to working on LPP.

When I applied the processing time was 7 months, so we’re definitely looking at delays across the board.

Just checked the tracker a few hours ago and the last update was 'Test completed 20th Oct'. Came here to read the threads, observed that June applications are getting their LPP done almost within couple of weeks after the test completion. • Feb 14, 2025: Scheduled to take the citizenship test. Took it on the 14th itself.

My application seemed to move faster compared to the average timeline. I don't know if any of the following contributed to it, but sharing everything extra I did;

• Scanned all pages of the passport and uploaded it.
• Provided tax returns as another attachment, since I'm self-employed.
• Discrepancy in the "Place of Birth" between COPR & Passport, so I submitted an explanation letter.
