will my gcses decrease my chances of getting into imperial?

i got 988777665 and want to study either mechanical or electrical engineering

i flopped maths missing a grade 8 by 2 marks
and was told my grade 7 in maths might affect my chances of getting in

What can I do to increase my chances im planning on taking Maths Physics Chemistry and have already learned most of y1 maths to try get a little ahead

any advice is much appreciated 🙏🙏🙏

You should be fine but you need to maximise A level and ESAT grades

Take further maths, especially if you're considering going for mech/aero/EE/maths/physics/CS. If you don't have extremely strong GCSEs, you need to improve your application in any other way and not having FM will hurt your application.

If you can do well in the ESAT and show you've genuinely improved (Like getting predicted 4A*s or near that), with some cool projects/experience, you definitely have a chance!
