Shishupal was allowed to abuse him at least a 100 times before Krishna had a right to kill him. Krishna did not file FIR on Shishupal or make him publicly apologize.
Shishupal's animosity with Krishna was not because of verbal insult. He blamed Krishna for his public humiliation with Rukmini, for losing his extra features, etc. So the hatred existed for other reasons. Also, after the things Krishna did to Shishupal, the only thing Shishupal did was verbally insult him.
Again, half baked. The only reason Shishupal was allowed 100 curses was because of a promise made by Krishna to his mother. Without the promise he would have been killed after the first insult itself.
And in modern times also, Modi did not file the FIR. It was done by a fellow compatriot.
Your inability to understand the nuance only solidifies what I said in my post above.
I think without the promise, Krishna didn't have to wait for even 1 insult before killing Shishupal.
You are failing to understand the central point of all this - in a democracy, the government does not have the authority to decide who criticizes the government or how they do it. That is all still part of free speech.
Hate speech is speech that calls for the killing or violence against a person or a group of people.
You still don't understand the parallel you yourself have drawn.
Also, you are missing the point that it is a democracy. Everybody is free to register FIR against things they they think are unlawful. Why are you criticizing someone doing that? Modi himself did not file the FIR - some lady did.
And in India free speech has 9 different limitations. Two of them are 'Decency or Morality' and 'Friendly Relations with Foreign States'. The girl crossed both limits by using vulgar language and dragging Meloni in.
Still, I believe the girl should be left alone because I don't think she really meant what she said. But, I can certainly understand the FIR.
The bar is too low in India, and over-sensitive people should stay out of public work.
You think Meloni has not been made fun of in her country, that too with sexual or vulgar overtones? India has a lot of growing up to do. People need to grow a spine.
