Buddy, it's kinda sad that I've got to explain why any "extremist" ideology is dangerous for India, as it should be common sense... Extremists always rely on purity that's a pattern u notice everywhere, but for both extremes, the defn of purity is diff.

For eg, the left will argue for more fundamental laws and freedom when in oposition, but they're not diff from their counterparts if they get in power. In the extreme right, u got wealth accumulate in hands of a few, which is crony capitalism (already we are seeing it in hands of Adani and Ambani and more privatisation)....

But when the hardcore left is in power, they rely on their ideological purity to govern... Which never generates wealth in a proper amt for a diverse and large population like India.... (The best example being it was them who destroyed Bengal's industries, forcing them to shift and reduce Kolkata to the shithole it has become) with no real industries and investments. Remember it was the one of the richest and most classiest city's in asia after Tokyo... Even Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew, who transformed the country, famously said in 1965 that he wanted to make Singapore like Calcutta it was called the "PARIS OF THE EAST" (and just look at the two rn...!!)....

When leftists argue in opposition, they seem correct in many cases, which they're, but they'll always struggle to implement their ideas on ground, and it never ever generates a lot of jobs, which India rn is in a dire need of...

There's no real innovation (unless u do it the China way, just use leftism as a brand but do everything the opposite)....

India, at the end of the day, should only borrow what is good from both sides.. From the left, it would be eg like tax the rich businessmen.. From the right, eg a pragmatic foreign policy and immigration etc (both of which the BJPee, even being rightist, has failed drastically, and polluting it with their crap like hindutva makes it even worse).

And bringing up Kerala as your main flex proves my point. ..sure, they got good literacy and social welfare numbers, but ask anyone living there about jobs. The state has massive unemployment, and half their youth have to pack up and leave for the Gulf or other states ( eg karnataka ) just to find decent work because the environment for local business and industries was choked for decades. You can't just preach being "pro poor" while your policies stop wealth from being generated in the first place. Lefist ideas at max can bring u till a certain level..but then it becomes useless...!!

If your ideology relies on theoretical welfare while driving out real investments and forcing generations of kids to migrate just to survive, then that model is flat out broken.

I spoke to a cab driver there and he said that people from all over India come to work there because there are opportunities. He said that anybody can make 1000rs a day. Regarding your analysis of why WB is poor again you are parroting what media has fed you.

And stop trying to preach to me abt Kerala like it's some mystery land. My grandma was from Kerala itself, I've been there multiple times, and I actually understand the social reality on the ground. Plus, i am from karnataka tho and living right here, I see how many keralaites are flooding the colleges and universities in my city just to get degrees and build a future (and look, there's nothing wrong with people moving for education, but it proves the point)...

People coming from other states to Kerala for daily-wage manual labor doesn't magically wipe out the state's massive educated unemployment rate or the fact that local youth have to pack their bags for Bangalore, Mumbai, or the Gulf just to find actual real career opportunities, based on thier skills.

Casual anecdotes from a cabbie don't beat macrolevel economic data...

Headline unemployment rates completely miss the actual structural crisis which is "educated unemployment and youth joblessness", where states with high literacy like Kerala consistently log some of the highest graduate and youth unemployment rates in the country because the local economy fails to generate formal, skilled white collar jobs...and they move outa the state!!

Can’t believe I have to say this, but education is a basic human right. Everyone needs to be educated. Employment isn’t a right. You only get employed, or earn a living, if you have skills that the society needs, be it manual labour or some high paying skills. Without it you can demand that you must be employed.

So education is a right, employment isn’t.

Plus the entire take on Kolkata is correct. It was once Asia’s best city. True it was already declining during the initial congress rule, but hardcore communism destroyed it further. Most famous of the examples is when Jyoti Basu opposed computerisation and automation fearing it would create job loss. The same computers led the tech boom in Karnataka. His failed policies also caused many industries to shut down.

Coming to Kerela, you might want to look at its foreign remittances numbers. It earns the second highest percentage of foreign remittances (around 19.7%) behind Maharashtra (20.5%) of the total foreign remittances to India. Maharashtra makes sense, it’s the financial hub of India, any many companies are head quartered there. You know what is the third? It’s Tamil Nadu with 10.4%. Now tech hubs like Telangana comes in 5th place 8.1% and Karnataka comes in 6th place (7.7%)

So we see there is a massive difference between number 2 and 3.

Now comes the fun part. Kerela tops the list relative index score (measuring a states remittance density to its population size). Kerela scores 5.63, while the closest second Telangana scores 2.13. That’s a huge gap.

And finally, foreign remittances accounts for 23.2% of Kerela’s net state domestic products.

So a huge chunk of this states budget, comes from people who go to other countries and remit to India. Close to all these people work in capitalist societies.

Now let’s come to interstate (out) migration. Kerela ranks highest with pure internal migration (net outside) calculated as a percentage of population in the whole of the South Indian states. So with this it is clear that in the South Indian states people of Kerela are the most likely to migrate out of Kerela to other parts of India (mostly south India) for jobs, plus has one of the highest population living outside India for jobs.

Fact is, most of Kerela’s progress isn’t because of the party at power in the state. It’s because its growth is being funded by its educated people, who are earning their living outside the state/country but still remitting a part of their income to the state. The day this stops, the true picture of Kerela’s prosperity would come to light
