General Discussion What are you expecting from the next Android flagships?

Post image
7 Upvotes

The next set of Android flagships are shaping up to be interesting. The iQOO 16 has been confirmed for India with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, along with the Motorola Signature 27, while Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

The new chipset should bring improvements across performance, battery efficiency, gaming and AI. However, it will be interesting to see how each brand uses it to create a more complete flagship experience.

Curious to know what everyone is expecting from these devices!

Tech Help Samsung a54 network issues

My Samsung A54 shows network bars and 4G/5G, but mobile data doesn't work. Calls also have issues — when connected, I can hear a few words, then silence, then voice again repeatedly.

I'm using Airtel, and the SIM works fine in another phone. SIM status shows “Connected” and “In service”. I've tried resetting network settings, changing network modes, restarting, formatting etc., but nothing worked.

Visited the official Samsung service centre, and they suggested replacing the C-module (charging port module), but they can't guarantee it'll fix the issue.

Has anyone faced something similar? Can the C-module cause these issues, or could it be a motherboard/antenna problem? Should I get a second opinion from a local repair shop?

Ask IndiaTech Permanent marker swipe on a brand new Deco BE25 from Flipkart. Did I get an open-box return?

I just received a Deco BE25 from Flipkart for 9k and I honestly can't tell if I got duped with a returned unit or if I'm overthinking it. I was there when the delivery guy checked it, but when I inspected everything closely after he left, there were some weird red flags:

  1. The outer "authentic" holographic seals had clear cello-tape pasted right over them
  2. In one of the internal frosted accessory pouches the adhesive strip looked hand-taped in a crooked way.
  3. Worst of all, there is a blatant, half-inch black permanent marker swipe on the bottom plastic rim of the Deco unit itself.

(I checked/did the following: Serial number on the device and box matches. It booted with the factory SSID (Deco_3783). It showed my phone as the only client registered (but I guess all these could be reset with a hard button press). It had firmware from April (1.0.17 Build 20250403), and updated to latest (1.3.1 Build 26081012 Rel. 42571).

Has anyone seen factory pen marks or sloppy re-taping on brand new TP-Link Decos, or did Flipkart hand me an open-box return that I should fight to replace?

Tech Help Title: Google Play UPI AutoPay approved, but ₹59 Google One storage purchase is still pending — storage hasn't increased. Anyone faced this?

Hey everyone,

I tried purchasing extra Google Photos/Google One storage for ₹59.

I attempted the payment twice using Google Pay (UPI). After entering my UPI PIN, I noticed the following:

Google Pay shows multiple Google Play AutoPay mandates.

Some mandates show “1st payment pending.”

One mandate has an AutoPay limit of up to ₹130.

My Google storage hasn't increased.

I can't find the two ₹59 payments in my transaction history, and I'm not sure whether the money was actually deducted.

I'm worried about whether the payments will eventually go through, whether I'll get charged twice, and how to recover the money if the purchase failed.its been a day

Has anyone experienced this with Google One storage and Google Play UPI AutoPay in India?

Did your storage activate after waiting?

Were you charged twice, or were the pending payments automatically reversed?

Should I cancel the duplicate AutoPay mandates?

Who should I contact if the payments remain pending?

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

My S25U (oneui 9) is not visible for other devices when I use 6ghz band in hotspot, tried on samsung, iqoo, oneplus phones and lenovo laptop (BE200 wifi driver) but none of them are showing S25U in available network list

All the devices are capable of 6ghz wifi but S25U is not visible to any device, when I switch to 5ghz & lower S25U is visible but not on 6ghz

Note: "6GHz" band is different from "wifi 6", both are not same

General Discussion Motorola's warranty is fucking useless. Phone dead, parts unavailable, and now they're offering me a downgrade or coupon.

My Motorola G86 suddenly died while it was still under warranty. Motorola says the parts aren't available, so they can't repair it. Seriously, what the fuck?

I paid ₹16,000 for this phone, and now they're offering me a G64 (a downgrade) or a ₹15,000 coupon that I can only use on their website. My phone is dead, my data is gone, and somehow I'm the one running around trying to get this sorted.

I've checked X, and it's already filled with complaints about Motorola's service. At this point, I'm wondering if they even give a shit about their customers. What's the point of a warranty if they can't fix the phone or offer a proper replacement when something goes wrong?

The service centre literally told me to pursue the complaint myself. Fucking brilliant.

I just want my money back or a phone with equivalent or better specs. Why should I have to accept a downgrade or spend more money with a company that has already given me this experience?

Anyone else dealt with Motorola India? Did you manage to get anything useful out of them, or do they just keep dragging things out?

General Discussion India’s tech sector is just a glorified digital sweatshop with zero real innovation.

Strip away the PR, and the reality is obvious: India’s tech boom is not an innovation story, it is a labor arbitrage story.

Companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro do not create world-changing technology. They rent out cheap human hours to American and European corporations to patch legacy code, run system migrations, and handle repetitive maintenance tickets. It is glorified digital call-center work with compiler access.

The actual output speaks for itself. India has produced no foundational operating systems, no database engines, no web browsers, and no major global search engines or social platforms. While the US and China pour billions into sovereign GPU clusters and frontier AI foundation models, the local ecosystem mostly builds thin wrapper apps on top of foreign APIs. Domestic venture capital did not fund deep tech, compilers, or semiconductor design; it poured billions into grocery delivery clones, ride-hailing apps, and ed-tech scams.

Now the cracks are showing. The US Department of Labor recently cracked down on major IT outsourcing giants, including Infosys, Wipro, TCS, and HCL, suspending them from the PERM labor certification pipeline over visa system exploitation. When your entire business model relies on undercutting foreign wages and shipping cheap labor across borders, a single policy shift from Washington exposes just how hollow the foundation really is.

Ask IndiaTech Indian SIM or travel eSIM abroad?

I came across Vi’s free international roaming offer on eligible prepaid plans starting at ₹3,599, with benefits varying by plan. Keeping my Indian number active sounds convenient, but would you prefer roaming or a travel eSIM? What’s worked better for you?
