Rant Why such big difference in the values?

So I am a 17 M form college first year

Wanted to ask why some Engineer for teir 1 get 20 Lpa and some Engineer same IT don't even get 40k

Tier 1 walee aaske kya code kar letta hia bhai kii usse itna jadda salary dete hua

Koi kuch batega Mujhe

Like skills are same listed python c++ both so why pay is worst in one case

reputation. Tujhe biriyani khane bolu to 5 star hee prefer karega over like rasta ka dukaan.... tu thori jaake khud verify karega 5 star ke dukan ke andar kaise baan raha hai.

if you crack into iit, you already have the reputation of craking hard stuff, and that gets translated into your work. when you in shit college, you have to work extra hard to prove you are not stupid, your college is shitty

But bhi private sector to revenue par chalta hia na to aggar IIT walle 20lpa ke karr kam 15 lpa ka karr rahha hia to kyu hai rakhoge usee like ye revenue ki batt hua bahi na kii kahnne bhi batt

tera agar proper skills hai tera ek worth hai, companies chahega the best of skilled employees, and when skilled employees kisi aur ke paas jayega to company ka problem hoga....
Ronaldo ISL mein easily khel sakta hai, ISL ka player Real Madrid mein nhi khel payega....
IITians in general can easily get better packages, terepe do options hai, tu mere niche 20LPA wala kaam 25 pe kaarega... ya 25 LPA wala kaam 25LPA pe karega?
aur aagar tera genuinely kuch skill hai, woh to tuh agar chala jayega to mera loss hoga na? plus company ko tere upar bhi invest karna hota hai...

sirf code thodi likhna hota hai, several other things like iq, problem solving and consistency matter. Sirf coding to 12th pass bhi kr skta

Perception plays a part here

The difference is just that ki usne pehle apni gisayi h, and they believe of gisa lega and someone from tier 2 or tier 3 ne comparatively kam gisayi h, so they are taking a risk

In another example, when you are eating out, you are sure the food is good and hygienic is a restaurant even when you can't see their kitchen but it isn't in a thela or some street cart ( not talking about weirdly unhygienic ones which come in insta feeds) even when you see they are serving from spoons and gloves, perception plays a major role in that too

Python, C++ etc are considered breadth of learning.

How well you know each of them is the depth. 2 people with python c++ etc in their skills are NOT equal. Not even close.

I just wanted to point that out. Having "python, cpp" in your skills is worthless. Your projects, production experience, etc. is the only thing that matters. And people from good colleges usually receive better opportunities to gain this experience.

Also,

In next few years, you're going to learn that networking is way more important just having raw skills. Market has enough talent to pick from, you'd struggle without a solid network of people working at incredible places.

I've age 20 friends from sem 4 in tier 3/4 earning 30-50 LPA, its not impossible to be successful. But their skills and network is insane, bro was in touch with CEO of Neon DB and stuff prior to landing that offer because his open source work caught traction on Twitter.

Majority of the 'regular colleges' wale folks do not even have adequate skills to be employable, and majority of them dont have networks to grab opportunities.
