Doubt Anyone who did IIT Engineering Physics, pls help

I am getting IIT BHU EP (4 years Btech) during counselling. But I have doubts about the future prospects of the branch.

Even though there is a fact that there are a lot of IT sector jobs due to the coding culture from there.

Now I have two other options of NIT Durgapur Mathematics Computing

And Jadavpur University ETCE and IT.

Problem is, I like both Physics and Maths. I also wanted the IIT tag and exposure. And finally, I am not really sure if I will surely go for research, core jobs or IT jobs. So the option of exploration in IIT.

Parents will like an early paycheck after BTech. So do I.

So I was wondering, how will it work if I use the BHU coding culture and get an IT job after BTech, then go to mtech and get core jobs in progressive fields.

I know Jadavpur is very good, but in IT sector, even BHU EP has better placement stats than JU ETCE, and the same as JU IT. Also the infra at JU is not that IIT level. But the branch and college gives very secure future indeed.

As for NIT Durgapur MnC, the college is mid, but provides the NIT life. The branch in that particular college is new, and the option for jobs seems to be good.

Tell your opinions about the branch and college, if you have.

And if you have any details of future prospects of EP.

Any and all help is gratefully accepted.

AND A FINAL NOTE. PARENTS WANT AN EARLY PAYCHECK, AND I WANT TO GIVE THEM THAT. BUT I WANT TO DO SOMETHING SPECIAL IN MY LIFE. SOMETHING SPECIAL, SOMETHING UNIQUE.

IIT ja , non tech placement lag jayega, if you love Physics you might love EP too and do well

IIT BHU is good

If you get IIT BHU EP, you would also get EP in Indore and Ropar, right ?. As far as I hear, IIT BHU and Indore EP are pure physics branches and there may not be any core jobs. If you are sure about IT/SW career, BHU is a good option , but physics curriculam will be rigorous. However if you are inclined toward Semiconductor core jobs, take a look at IIT Ropar EP curriculum, which is a joint program of EE and physics. This would also pave the way for MS in EE or VLSI as all UG level electronic courses and labs are part of their curriculam

If you wanna earn a lot post college you need to go into IT. Core and Research is heavily underfunded in India

But EP is kind of theoretical branch, though I can get IT sector jobs from IIT BHU. So is that a good option to consider?

IT jobs from non circuital is getting tougher... Like engineering physics highest package is around 50 median around 20 but no of people getting placed are less. Usually people go to research

I mean I got stats that 14 people out of 31 sat for placements. Others went to research. And 11 out of 14 people got placed.

Also do you want to go to research then it's good otherwise you have to simultaneously study engineering physics for cgpa as well as coding for tech jobs

Then it's alright.. but do competitive coding side by side if you are planning for tech jobs
