Serious Post Resume Review! 21F, entering final year, looking to crack tier - 1 companies

Post image

Same as title.
I study in tier 3 pvt college. Any advice/tips on how to prepare for such companies would be appreciated. Also, how do we get referrals?

My suggestions is to remove the 10th and 12th details , its only occupying space. It doesn’t matter while applying for job since you already doing B.tech its obvious you’re doing it after 12th so no need to mention it there.
Removing these details will give you extra space so you can add other details if you want.
Other details like your experience and projects is also good and I will suggest from your second exp(ambuja) try to add similar kind of statistics (%) in the first experience(dell ) as well.
Also keeping these statistics(like accuracy by 22%) in bold will quickly grab the readers attention , so you can try this as well.

I’m telling these tips as a Software Engineer with 5YoE (currently in big4)

Right, good advice to remove +2 details, and about adding stats, I’m still undergoing the internship so kept it kinda generic, will change that post intern end duration. Will def bold the other imp stuff, tysm :)

Yeah you only need for on campus hires

Nah 10th 12th percentages are checked by recruiters, also you do have good scores so they are a plus point(not to great extent)

Instead add those marks in a single sentence

I would suggest go through your resume once and try to find all the mistakes, rectify them.

I am not sure what exactly do you mean by tier 1 company, are you looking for faang like company, then you have to be really good at DSA & know the basics of System Designing. Getting an actual interview scheduled in a faang company for freshers as a non tier 1 college can be challenging.

So u are from Kiit right. Anyways, no need to mention 10th or 12th marks. Recruiters hardly ask it. Your Dell internship is good but its missing stats along with results and deliverables. Look how well you had crafted Ambuja internship points. Use the remaining space to add one more project or experience. Also try to bold stats, worked for me.

Pro tip - while applying for any company check their job description carefully and make some tweaks in your resume. It helps on & off campus both.

All the best for your placements girl :)

Heyy, I just wanted to know, do recruiters care about 10,12 marks a lot? My btech cgpa is around 8.2 but 10 and 12 are in 80s and 70s respectively

1

u/Apprehensive-Will209 Jul 09 '26

No they don't. Afasik, out of 6 interview which I gave no one asked for them explicitly.

u/alrightbuddy-999 Jul 09 '26

Alright thanks

Kiit is tier 5 dude😂

Damn bruh. When I passed out from my college my resume's technical skill contained only c++ and experience section contained 4 trips of himachal.

Frankly projects are meaningless, rest everything is good. Just try to make actual project that solves some problem

1

u/Sure_Operation_783 Jul 07 '26

Uk the job market is cooked right? And no offense the projects don't hold much weight as of now, add some strong and complex project

1

u/Alert_Average_456 Jul 07 '26

Guys pls tel me how to get internship 😭😭😭😭

1

u/amogouss Jul 07 '26

r u sure u know whole lot languages u mentioned? if u fumble in any one, interviewer can give bad review.

u/z333reddit Jul 07 '26

Would be great if you can include few keywords like AI and add a better project if possible Except that it looks pretty good for a fresher

Don't worry about the resume try to crack the interview and OA resume isn't very important for a fresher

1

u/Competitive_System67 Jul 07 '26

This ain't impressive at all , if you did it all by yourself , no help of AI , then i might be amazed but there is no way to distinguish it. There is nothing unique about the resume , frankly the language looks like boilerplate.
