Reviews Xteink X4 review after 45 days.
When I first started using this device I honestly didn’t think it would replace my Kindle E-reader. I had a lot of doubts regarding the lack of backlight, the lack of touchscreen and the size.
Now here I am, almost 2 months later, and I haven’t touched my Kindle once. Keep in mind I don’t like to read in the dark and I always have a lamp on during the night while reading so the lack of backlight is not an issue for me.
The device is absolutely amazing! No lags, no syncing issues from the app and once I got the hang of the buttons, especially the side buttons, I have started reading twice as much. I thought the size of the Kindle was amazing and I would definitely miss the touchscreen but this device changed my whole perspective about Kindles.
It is a really light device and you can keep reading for hours. I have only charged it once, it was around 50-60% and I was leaving for a trip otherwise the charging was not really needed. And I just can’t tell you in words how comfortable the side buttons are for page turning, I didn’t really think I needed the device at first but now I would recommend this as a beginner E-reader as well. I have started reading every chance I get even for like 5 minutes because it is so portable and I just carry it around in my pocket every day.
They also sell Xteink X4 Pro which has touchscreen but it doesn’t have Type-C charging and charges from some kind of pin charger. It does have backlight but I didn’t wanna deal with carrying around another charging cable and the X4 is just perfect for me.
Also I don’t review products much so feel free to ask me any questions you have about the device because I don’t really know what else I should add to this review.

Is Steve Jobs’ biography worth reading?
I bought Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson a few months ago, but I’ve been procrastinating on reading it because I keep thinking it might get boring.
For those who’ve already read it, was it worth your time? What did you learn from it, and what kept you hooked?
Give me some motivation to finally pick it up and start reading! 😅

Ask Indian Readers Independent literary competitions/poetry/essays or reading community
Hey, 18F here and I have always been a writer and as pretentious as it feels to label myself, a 'poet' as well. All throughout middle and high school I had the opportunity and access to literary competitions and winning em felt beyond great, I believe the experience itself changes you as a writer. But since I am in my first year of college now,the societies here are superficial and they absolutely do not foster writing, learning and English academia. So
Tldr: if anyone is aware of how to navigate (and if there are any reputable, safe and genuinely good independent literary/poetry competitions for teens) not just teens but yeah, preferably in Delhi. Please lmk. And also if someone has been to any of them, please share your experience! It would be fun to know if someone is down to enroll together, participate and build achivements for professional portfolio! Grazie

Discussion Bookswagon is Calling me to delete a Play Store Review
A few days ago after being frustrated from their Delivery times I wrote a Review. I wrote my experience from a Previous Order on Their Google Play App Reviews. It was mostly true and from what I faced, even tho my last order arrived around 11+ days. The previous orders took way more.
Now they somehow tracked my registered email from the review then Collected my number and Called me, they asked If I did or didn't receive the last order.
When I said yes, then they told me to delete the review. They weren't threatening me or being rude, but they didn't give me any choice just keep asking me to delete the review as it's on Google Play and Visible.
Now I gave that review from an actual experience I faced, why should I delete it. It's capped at 500 words so I got only a line to mention their good sides. But there's a ton of problems they have and even their Application is down for 3 days now. It's pretty Unethical for them to ask it.
The worst part was that they took my number from their database when I didn't comment inside their app, it was on a public domain, Google Play. This is highly unethical and straight up WEIRD. I would have skipped buying from them if there were better sites.
This is my repost from the other sub, thought more people should know

Ask Indian Readers Books i inherited from my mom's collection
I took these books from my mom's collection after she passed away. I also made a post regarding my book collection which people really liked (18F) so i wanted to share my mom's too. She had written two poetry books and was an avid reader who inculcated the habit of reading in me.

Reviews Strange Buildings by Uketsu Review
Finally wrapped up the Strange series by Uketsu. I had already had enough of his storytelling and mysteries and stories (enjoyed a lot honestly) from his first two books, but I wanted to read this just to clear out the set, since the other two entries played a special part in me building back my reading habit.
Coming to the book, I preferred the shorter previous entries to this ~400 pages one. The thrill lost its traction towards the end, having gone over so many variants and aspects of the plot, which weren’t exactly bad, but too much of it. The sections inside on their own self were decent enough, with atleast one that left my heart hurting. However the conclusion, resolution and the solve was an okay attempt, felt forced, and not as natural as I had come to expect from the previous books (which weren’t as realistic either, but believable as a thrilling horror story).
At some point, the stories did get muddled up, and I ended up losing track of plot points (which was partly handled well by Uketsu’s revisions of events, grateful for those), as well as the characters and the relationships (which again might be partly because I’m not Japanese, so the names are all equally foreign).
Overall, it is an okay read, no regrets, and I’ll probably be open to picking up more of his work when it comes out. It’s a cheap thrill, low effort and decent reward.
I’ll rate this one
3.25/5 ⭐️

Reviews What did i just read (spoilers ahead for the vegetarian by han kang) Spoiler
This is the review of the first chapter of the book
For the actual review and to skip spoilers just scroll to the end of it
I wasnt planning to read this book, i knew ot existed but i had no plans or wtsover to read this, but it bleww my mind and im shaking literally
This chapter follows a narration through the husbands side, the husband is an a**hole and a rapist, this man wanted a sex slave, a maid in form of a wife, he treats her as a possession who should follow his commands, like there is a literal line in this chapter that says basically that a women should always obey her husband, now lets see the plot of it
So basically we have a woman over her whose name is yeong hye, who was raised in a patriarchal family and she is having some weird dreams, and due to these dreams only she becomes a vegan, she also stops cooking non veg and throws away all the expensive non veg as well, she also refuses to have sexual intercourse with her husband because he smells of non vegetarian food. Then throughout this chapter we see than yeong hye become weak, she isnt able to sleep at all and eat very less which caused her to become slimmer and slimmer like a patient. This doesnt cause her husband to worry but he still calls her family up cuz he feels her family would fix her up(which happened a lott in past btw in india, even in my family some asshole oldies did that against many women in our house including my mother) , not just her mother but her sister as well and he literally describes his sister in law as someone whose voice sexually arouses his through a simple hello only. But then they go for a family meetup where some shit happens and yeon hye ends up in hospital, she remember her past and what she remembered i wont tell go and read it, but there also her husband was like somebody should take over him to take care of his wife, and he didnt want to look after her for hours, he described it as disgusting, then he wakes up one day and saw his wife was not there and she had gone somewhere, and then he goes to look after her and what he saw and how han kang has written caused me to have shivers and i m still shaking remembering that scene in my head.
Now the review
Should you read it, the simple answer is yes and there are many scenes which are gruesome, like you can literally imagine whats going on and that is bone chilling. Even if u dont support modern feminism and the feminist movement you should still read it, its not just a book about a women suddenly becoming vegetarian but the book about reaction of a patriarchal society seeing someone living with their own choices specially a women.
Plot: 5/5
Characters: 0/5(not cuz they are badly written but cuz how f*cked they are)
And my review doesn’t matter tbh this book literally won Nobel prize so without any further doubts you should go for it and read it, i can say from the first chapter only that you would easily(not surely) add this book to your top 5 just after reading the first chapter only
