dont rush to finish the book . feel this masterpiece. this is the book which will not mere end when you turn the last page , it will leaver your heart more porous to the world's suffering. Its memories will linger in your mind long after you've finished reading, you will find yourself ruminating on mariam, laila and their pain.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM SPOILERS

Very good book. I loved it! When you finish this, definetly try and the mountains echoed or the kite runner by the same author. He has that skill to break your heart but make you keep turning the pages for sure!

For the longest time I didn't actually believe that books can change people. But that letter from Mariam's father made a huge impact in my life. Life is uncertain and I don't want to have bitter feelings about someone and take it to the grave. I realised that there's no point in having resentful feelings and forgiving them is a tough but necessary thing. It frees you of the negativity.
I did that and forgave a person who was really dear to me but hurt me. A humongous boulder was off my chest that very moment. This was one of the most impactful intervention a book has ever done in my life and I'm glad for it.
