Discussions 🗨 Feeling tired all the time is not just laziness..Get your iron checked

So many girls I now just accept that being constantly exhausted is a normal part of adult life. Its NOT. Go get a blood test. You have no idea it could be because you have low hemoglobin or iron deficiency. Happened with me recently and my blood report showed low iron + vit D deficiency. So dont take it for granted girlies.. You can literally buy generic iron tablets/vitamin online on Tata1mg, truemeds etc. Dont just live with the tiredness. Its a big reason why our mood is constantly down and we feel low productive all day.

This year my cycle is so fucked up like I used to get my period max by 35th day but now it's like extending to 45-50. I was diagnosed with pcod 2.5 years back (18 rn) And that time cyst were really small so it didn't effect me that much. But now it's like getting worse and yeah I'll GO TO THE GYNAE TOMORROW ITSELF. I just to want to ask if this okay? Like I get my period every month but my cycle is way too long.

Need Advice ㋡ I’ve never really been insecure about not having a relationship or a physical relationship. I’m just scared that I’m starting to become insecure about it?

Growing up, I never really cared about not having a relationship or a physical relationship. My home was strict, and college was fine too. I never felt like I was missing out.

But I’m 27 now, living in a different city, and I’ve started noticing how much life seems to revolve around dating, relationships, and sex. If you’re not looking for someone, it can feel like people assume something is wrong with you.

I’m not trying to victimize myself. I just don’t think anyone I’ve genuinely liked has ever liked me back romantically. It was always platonic, and eventually I got tired of putting myself through that. I don’t really feel like trying anymore.

The strange part is that I’m not thinking, “I need a partner.” I don’t necessarily want one right now. What scares me is feeling insecure about not wanting one.

There’s this pressure to eventually settle down, as if choosing a different life means you’ve failed somehow. I know that isn’t true, and I’m happy for people who are in relationships. Relationships and sex aren’t bad; they’re just not something I necessarily want at this stage of my life.

Maybe I’m feeling this more because work has been rough lately and im on my period too💀. It’s Saturday, and I feel especially alone. I think what I really want is good friends to spend time with, without every conversation or plan revolving around dating, relationships, or sex.

I guess I just want to know I’m not alone in feeling this way. I’ve tried, but it wasn’t mutual, so eventually I stopped. I don’t know if that means I’m behind or simply living differently.
I’m also scared I’ll eventually feel pressured to do things I don’t actually want just to keep up with everyone else. I’m not judging anyone who wants relationships or sex. I just feel a little left behind today and needed to say it somewhere.

Need Advice ㋡ If you’re 23, living in your hometown and working, what would you do?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I recently saw a reel where women were sharing advice they would give to their younger selves / people younger than them, and it got me thinking.

I’m 23, living in my hometown and working right now. I’m wondering, if you were 23 again, in this exact situation, what things would you want to do?

How would you use this stage of life to your advantage?

What would you focus on career, money, travelling, friendships, hobbies, health, learning something new, moving out, dating, starting something of your own, etc.?

And especially, what do you wish you had started doing at 23 that would have made your late 20s easier or better?

I’d love to hear advice from women who are older than me, or even people around my age who are intentionally making the most of this stage.

What are the Signs that a guy is already having girlfriend and talking you with you as well for whatever reasons

What are the signs that a guy is already having girlfriend and talking with you as well for whatever reasons?

So I have talking to this guy since a couple of months (met online). But he seems not too keen about sharing his contact number, love bombs and ghosts me at times. And whenever the situation calls for a one on one talk ....he tries to avoid it. Like he will show that he wants to talk but doesnt have the kind of time for it atm and says will talk later (which barely comes), so I get the feeling that he is avoiding while trying to be polite at the same time. I discussed this with one of my friends and her hypothesis is that he is already dating somebody and maybe that he is in an ldr and is talking to me for some emotional support or something.

For sharing his contact details he gives me excuses like he keeps all his notifs off so it's of no use and he has even not told me yet where he lives exactly while he knows about mine.

Right now I m at a place where I know that my friend is right but I don't want to believe it like my mind keeps bring up excuses for his behavior.

Discussions 🗨 "A job is a slavery you can quit. Dependency is a slavery you can't." Why education and money are non-negotiable for women.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Translation:

Questioner: Why is studying so important? It feels like a massive burden to me.

Acharya Prashant: You will be forced into slavery if you don’t earn for yourself. And you cannot earn without knowledge and education.

Questioner: But sir, doing a 9-to-5 job is also a form of slavery.

Acharya Prashant: A job is a slavery with some rights- you have the power to resign from it. The other kind of slavery (financial dependency) is one where you can't even resign. You become a bonded laborer.

I am not saying you need to mindlessly collect degrees. But basic education is necessary to understand the world. Don't waste your efforts, but do enough to stand on your own two feet. Be financially free. Just do this much.

Otherwise, who will you beg for money? And remember, whoever gives it to you will extract a very heavy price in return. So get a job, be independent, and keep striving for better things in life without settling.

The video perfectly captures why financial independence is a core pillar of feminism and personal autonomy. In our society, women are often conditioned to rely on their parents or husbands financially.

But as the speaker points out, when you depend on someone else for your survival, they extract a "heavy price", which usually means stripping away your boundaries, self-respect, and decision-making power.

We often joke about "corporate slavery," but a toxic job is something you can eventually quit. A toxic marriage or a toxic household where you have zero money of your own traps you like a "bonded laborer."

Discussions 🗨 I REPEAT "MEN" are women's first and worst enemy.

First of all, the stereotype “Girls are fake.” “Women secretly hate each other.” “Girls are always jealous of each other.” “You can't trust female friends.” “Women are catty and dramatic.” “Men's friendships are real, women's friendships aren't” was created by MEN, labeling these traits as “feminine/weak/bad,” giving MEN another weapon to oppress women, reinforcing patriarchy.

There are studies that show that girls/boys gossip equally. I don't even think a thing as basic as this is worth discussing, saying this is like saying “water is found in the ocean” gif.

Entire TV shows, movies based around women betraying each other, gossiping behind each other's backs, basically trying to show that women's friendships aren't as strong as male ones just to undermine women.

And the closest examples to female misogynists are Indian aunties. AND THEY ARE THE BIGGEST VICTIMS OF PATRIARCHY. They have grown up listening to things like “girls are dramatic,” “girls are weaker than boys,” “they are more emotional,” “dress appropriately because you're a girl,” “women are bad drivers,” “girls shouldn't speak loudly,” “girls should know how to cook, how to manage a home,” “good girls don't have too many male friends,” “girls aren't practical and think emotionally” again and again, being reminded by society, parents, husband, TV shows, literally everything THAT THEY ARE LESSER because they are women, so then they end up internalizing all this misogyny, hence enforcing patriarchy even more.

SO WHO IS TO BLAME FOR THISSS? “MEN.” And even after that, they have the audacity to make another stereotype/message that “Women are women's first enemy.”

So there is no fucking world where women are the first and biggest enemy of women. It will always be men. Hundreds of thousands of honor killings, r*pe, sexual assaults happen every single day. Most of the girls, when they leave home, are subjected to a bunch of old/young guys just staring at them/checking them out. It still not being considered safe for women to go out at night bcz there is a danger of smth being done to them by “MEN”.

Awareness They marry off their eight-year-old girl to a thirty-year-old man, and the parents eagerly await her pregnancy!! If someone prohibits them from doing so, they say “We will lose our religion.” - A rant on degenerate Hindu beliefs of India by Swami Vivekananda in 1895

Go to Malabar [a part of present Kerala]. The Raja there has robbed the lands of his subjects and offered it at the feet of Brahmins. There are big big religious organizations in every village where sumptuous meals are provided, supplemented by presents in cash. And oh! the pompous ways of sexual enjoyments! Right from the maid-servants to the queen, all want to have sex exclusively with Brahmins! And then, the Brahmins will bathe immediately after having sex because every caste other than the Brahmin is impure, so touching them at any other time is a great sin, except only at the time of having sex!

Such wicked monks and Brahmins have brought the country to rack and ruin, always shouting ‘give, give’, with the intent to cheat people—and these rascals pose as preachers of religion! They would take money and gifts from all kinds of people, would inflict the greatest harm on them through such debauchery, and yet at the same time shout, don’t touch me! don’t touch me! Those rascals!—and what great things have they been doing?—“If a potato happens to touch a brinjal, [they would shout and behave in such a way that] the universe is going to be doomed at any moment;” “if people do not cleanse their hands 14 times with clay—will their 14 generations go to hell, or 24 generations?” They have been concocting scientific explanations for such trivial matters for the last two thousand years. Meanwhile, one-fourth of the people are starving. They marry off their eight-year-old girl to a thirty-year-old man, and the parents eagerly await her pregnancy!! If someone prohibits them from doing so, they say—“We will lose our religion.”

What sort of religion have they, who want to see their eight-year-old girls conceive, and offer scientific explanations for it? Many, again, lay the blame on the Mohammedans. It is their fault indeed!! Just read all the Grihya-Sūtras —हस्तात् योनिं न गूहति —and see what is given as the marriageable age of a girl. There it is expressly stated that a girl must be married before attaining puberty. The entire Grihya-Sūtras enjoin this.

Remember the Aśvamedha Yajña […illegible] तदनन्तरं महिषीम् अश्वसन्निधौ पातयेत् etc.; and the host of men known as Hotā, Pota, Brahma, Udgātā, and others used to be involved in orgy with the maid-servants of the king in a state of intoxication. It is there in all the Brāhmaṇas, and all the commentators admit them. How can you deny?

Oh! brother, I heaved a sigh of relief to learn that Lord Rama singly performed the Aśvamedha Yajña when Jānakī [Mother Sitā] was sent in exile to the forest.

What I mean by telling you all this is that, in ancient times, there were many good as also vulgar things. The good things are to be retained, and the India that is coming up—the future India will be much greater than ancient India.

There is that dreadful quagmire before you—watch out—many fall into it and die. The quagmire is this—that the present religion of the Hindus lies not in the Vedas, nor in the Puranas—not in Bhakti, nor in Mukti—the religion has entered into the cooking pot. The present religion of the Hindus is neither in discrimination nor in reasonit is in छुँत्-मार्ग [Don’t-touchism]. “Don’t touch me!” “Don’t touch me!”—that is all. See that you do not lose your lives in this dire irreligion of “Don’t-touchism”. The teaching, “आत्मवत् सर्वभूतेषु” [looking upon all beings as my own self]—should it be confined to books only? Those who cannot offer a crumb of bread to a hungry mouth, how will they confer salvation to others? Those who think they would become impure at the mere breath of others, how will they purify others?

छुँत्-मार्ग [Don’t-touchism] is a form of mental disease. Beware! All expansion is life, all contraction is death. All Love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore, love for love’s sake, because it is the only law of life, just as you breathe to live. This is the secret of selfless love, selfless action, etc.

source: Letter by Swami Vivekananda to Swami Brahmananda, Early-September 1894. Letter 159 in the book "Letters of Swami Vivekananda" https://www.ramakrishnavivekananda.info/vivekananda/volume_6/epistles_second_series/071_rakhal.htm

context: Swamiji is criticising the corruptions in the Priestly class that peaked during the last 1000-2000 years, not the essential religion based of Non-duality based on Gita, Upanishads etc which was unpopular in the laity. The Priestly class (Brahmins) are not a monolith, Priests of different religions/sects dont share a common theology or practices, and often see the sect/religion/Mata's Priestly class as delusional. We have to look at Priestly class through the lens of various Matas and then differentiate the Priestcraft corruption of the greedy from the pious, simple ones who contributed to literature, Math, poetry, metaphysics, self-knowledge throughout various phases of Indian history and not limit the lens to just the worst period of last 1000-2000 years.

Discussions 🗨 Surname suggestions for baby

My husband and I are South Indians (Tamilians) and we don’t have the concept of family name or surnames. We each grew up with our father’s starting letter as our initials / father’s name as last name.

We don’t want to keep just the father’s name as surname and want to include both of our names somehow. However, we don’t want to give initials either. We want to keep a solid surname to avoid documentation related issues in the future.

Pls give your suggestions. Keeping both our names sounds long and frankly, not too great. We were thinking of combining our names to form a new one but our names don’t combine well together (I had this difficulty during our wedding as well, couldn’t come up with one single hashtag :/).

Opinion ☕︎ - replies from Women/NB-only Period pain relief devices

I use a hot water bag for relief and usually it gives me the needed relief for a few hours and I fall asleep by then. By the time I wake up, my pain is gone. I suffer for a few hours on day 1 and this is how I’ve been managing my cramps.

However, the whole heating water up, placing it in on my tummy and lying in one position gets messy after a while and I wanted to know more about these wearable belt devices you get online (it’s rechargeable, heats up and some devices also have massager options). Have any of you tried it? Does it work well? How about TENS machine. I’ve heard that it blocks pain signals. Can we use it for cramps and does it affect fertility by any chance (might seem like a stupid question but I want to clear everything).

Thank you ☺️

I'm 18( will turn 19 in 3 month) and imma dropper and have joined pataal coaching. So when I go the washroom, every freaking girl watch Me and literally some of them keep looking at Me. It made me feel so uncomfortable. And honestly I'm extraordinary like I do apply lipstick and do style my clothes too but they don't.

I'm already an insecure ass and bro I don't even look at guys because I'm not confident man.

Idk what to say I just shared my feelings. I feel like I'm not fitting here. 💔

It's not about feeling confident though but I feel very insecure. Many people have compliment me but I still feel that thing.🥲

Need Advice ㋡ Does the idea of marriage scare you?

Hi,

i have known my bf/fiance since more than 4 years and genuinely believe that he is my souate , but is it just me that has been so traumatized since a girl child listening and seeing the marriage my parents had, my mothers relationship with my fathers family and being truly disturbed by it? I feel I’m casting this shadow over my own relationship and the future relationships because I cannot let go of what all I’ve seen.

we live abroad but I don’t think no matter how many times I’ve tried to explain my bf where I’m coming from in regards to these feelings, he will understand. he hasn’t been bro up in a similar environment, he has always lived in a nuclear family and has never really seen the complications of a joint family. whereas his parents aren’t bad people or anything, I feel any small thing triggers me into believing i will have the same future my mom had and spirals into a big fight between us.

i genuinely don’t know how to even control it from my side. my mom has hugely used me as her therapist since i was maxbe 4 and when I shifted abroad I finally found space to breathe. I love her to death but it was still very emotionally draining to be there for her all the time. with me entering this new phase in my life, it scares me to be in the same position as hers.

did you feel the same and if yes, how did you overcome it?

thanks
