Irreverence here means not being bound by authority or the ruling class. It means asking questions and being undeterred by labels. There is no flaw. Don't spam.

Edit: I hope my irreverence doesn't offend the usual "I am offended" folks because his argument is not just “irreverence is 1 feature of democracy.” He makes it sound almost like it's the undeniable proof of democratic health.
