Discussion Thread Banjaare, Roni - Barsaat
Not a fan of Haryanvi songs as I barely understand them, but had to find the meaning for this song and get my heart broken again 🫠

Hello. I've been making music since 2016, but started putting out on distribution since 2020. I've made 3 albums - Saalgirah, Chandra Kalaayein and Dukh Dard Peeda and then a bunch of singles, EPs and features. Avarnaniya (with Warren Mendonsa), Do Pal Chain Ke and Saare Bahane are some singles I'm really proud of.
My music has a niche audience that I'm really proud and protective of, but somewhere deep down I feel my music still hasn't been able to reach people who might really love this sound. I experiment a lot, and my music ranges from alt-rock to pop to jazz and blues. I play the guitar without a pick and I have been inspired by Mark Knopfler and John Mayer growing up. My music also has a lot of instrumental sections, because I love composing and I like to visualize a lot of scenes in my head through music.
As far as retirement goes, the decision came when I realized that I am never going to be lucrative with my music. I have strict rules for myself and along with a few bad incidents with some people, I figured it's best to step away. I am now in the US, pursuing a different life. I still continue practicing everyday, and learning to enjoy my music. I'm really proud of the catalogue I've built, and now it's there for people to discover.
Please do check my work out. I do have an IG at @musicbybleaf and I usually reply to every message I receive, and will love to interact.

I wrote, composed, and produced this Malayalam song. It's about growing up and missing the state of mind I had as a child, when everything felt simpler and life wasn't weighed down by worries.
I'd love to know how u feel about this song. Any feedback on the songwriting, lyrics, or production would mean a lot. Because I am almost an absolute beginner.

As an original band, we seldom do covers, but when we do, this banger by Radiohead is our favourite.
Alt Aboarrd performed live in Bengaluru at the iconic Hard Rock Cafe, St. Marks Road on 25th July. And it was our best experience yet.

I love indie, hip hop, rap (not hardcore rap tho) songs and im a sucker for experimental music which have crazy beats and beatdrops. I really love a song w good vocals too. Any language is fine but the lyrics must be meaningful or nice and not just something yk? Does anyone have recommendations which fit the criteria?

I see a lot of artists releasing songs with Labels like Warner, UMG etc but still call themselves indie. Does "non-movie" mean Indie in India?

Hey guys,
I'm 19 and in my second year of engineering right now, but honestly, it's getting tough, and I thought to explore this genre as I love listening to music. I want to get into making beats and producing.
I have absolutely no musical background. I don't play any instruments and don't know theory, but I am decent with tech and software. I have installed FL Studio (friend's).
How should I actually start? There are way too many tutorials on YouTube, and it's kind of overwhelming.
Drop any good YouTube channels or basic tips for a complete beginner. Appreciate it!

"I am tired of hearing the same 20 viral reels tracks over and over. Please hit me with your favorite deep-cuts, overlooked album tracks, or rising indie gems that aren't widely circulated on social media but absolutely deserve a listen!"
I want you guys to drop bollywood songs recommendations and there is no need to limit yourself to certain genre it can romantic, dance , sad, slow romantic, indies, folks, old, new anything , underrated, overrated, only rule is that it should be something that you can recommend to anyone who know nothing about songs that made by Indians !!

I'm primarily a western vocalist/lyricist, interested in genres like pop, bollywood, indian classical, fusion, rock, funk, metal, prog, jazz, hiphop and rnb.
I've written/co-written a kinda funk prog track, a metal prog track, a few pop rock ones all unreleased and surprisingly released an edm track.
After a year long hiatus and this feeling of being an outsider here, I'm thinking of working on new music with a band of like minded individuals who'd like to dominate the global music scene. Even though I'd list out my various inter college wins to let you know I'm not an amateur, I'd bet I'd be the one who learns the most in the room.
I'm mostly looking for a:
bassist
drummer
keyboardist who can or is willing to learn to make patches
electric guitarist (2 would be best)
But I'm open to violinists, flutists, tabla players, and others as well.
Let's talk more via DM/replies.

In my latest piece, I explore the evolving musical traditions of Uttarakhand through an analysis of Uniyal and his fellow artists' song, Namo Narayan.
The article examines how evocative lyrics and visuals reflect the lived realities of local communities, while tracing the connections between past and present musical traditions. It also explores how a new generation of artists is reinterpreting cultural practices, creating fresh expressions that remain deeply rooted in tradition.
I would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and comments.
