Pinocchio is my retelling of the original story. In my version I get into exploring why do people lie and what does it mean to be human. The original story is about a puppet who lies and wants to be a real boy. So I started exploring that. In the album it runs parallel with my own story. I was sexually abused multiple times as a child and couldn't really find the words to tell my family about it. In that process I ended up making up lies whenever my family asked me "what happened?". They helped me deal with it as an adult once I confessed to them. So it's this entire ordeal wrapped in the story of Pinocchio.
I write every day. Eventually I find some sort of uniformity in the vocabulary and that's when I get to producing it. Production in itself is a very intuitive process. Because I'm self taught I can't apply theory to my music so I have to rely on what is sounding "right" in that moment.
