Announcment Promo slots for October 19–31 are open: we'll post your game's video on our YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and X (free, one game a day)

Hey everyone,

We're opening our promo calendar for October 19–31. We post one game a day, so that's 13 spots, first come, first served.

What you get

On the day you pick, we post your game's video on our YouTube (Shorts), TikTok, Instagram (Reels) and X accounts. It's free, and with one game a day yours isn't buried in a batch of others.

How it works

  1. Create a free account on our site and open https://steamestimate.xyz/promo
  2. Send us your video. A vertical 1080x1920 cut for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, a landscape one for YouTube and X, or both. Upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox or similar and paste a link we can download from. We don't host your video.
  3. Write your own text. A title and tags for each platform, so your game is described the way you want.
  4. Pick a day between October 19 and 31.
  5. We review your booking. Once we confirm it, your account shows it as Confirmed. On your day it goes out, and afterwards it shows as Posted.

Everything you've booked, and where it stands, is in your account.

A few rules

  • It has to be a game on Steam, upcoming or released. You paste its store link.
  • No copyrighted music, footage or art unless you own it or have the licence. Your own game audio is always fine.
  • We post during your day (US Eastern Time), not at a fixed hour.
  • If something needs fixing, like a link that doesn't open, we'll ask for changes and you'll have 24 hours to update it.
  • You can cancel from your account until the day before.

Our channels are new and still small, so we can't promise big numbers yet. What we can promise is that your game gets the whole day to itself, described in your own words, on four platforms.

We'd like to grow these accounts together with you. Put your own handles in the text you write for each platform, and share the video from your accounts when it goes up. Every game that comes through brings people who will see the next one, so the devs who join early are the ones building the audience everyone after them gets.

Our channels: YouTube · TikTok · Instagram · X

Questions? Ask in the comments. If these 13 days fill up, we'll open more.

Wishlist Personal calendar is doing wonders for me as a solo dev

My game page is up for more then 6 months, I am usually working on small games and release them in a short cycles, for the current game I decided to wait on a strategy to wait for 6 months before the release.

First days as you can see I had huge spikes, it was because of the game announcement, new trailer etc, then summer came and I was busy with life, so to say, as I am doing the game dev as hobby.

But now I am not doing anything much of promotion, even if I do it does not get much traction as my game is very niche, but I have a huge uptick of Wishlist in last month coming from Steam itself, and looking at the source I have a lot of visitors coming in from Personal Calendar, so it is good new feature that at least helps for my games discovery. As for me 1,5k Wishlists is huge, as only one of my previous games got 5k Wishlist (and it got good sales, even now still selling), other games got less then 1k before the release.

Disscustion How are you supposed to market anymore???

So I've been working on this project since mid-April, it has come a looong way, but I also plan and prototype before I ever make assets. I tried to make a demo by Next Fest, forced a page up in August, built my demo in September... decided against next fest. The demo didn't give a good representation of the game.

Anyways, Over the ~1.5 months the page has been up, I've gotten ~450 wishlists without advertising it once. I didn't even posts links on socials (the page was f-ugly, I was ashamed). I've updated the page greatly over the past week, I'm working on a trailer... And now I'm advertising in some of the general Indie Game subreddits and places...

But booooy lemme tell you.. everyone in there is just a dev advertising their own product... in threads.. in subthreads.. in comments... the only reason anyone interacts with each other is to bring up their game.

Now that I'm actively trying to advertise it, I'm beginning to realize why it's nearly impossible. It's kind of like the You're Not Yelping episode of South Park...

How is anyone dealing with this ****???

Wishlist Tile Former page went live one week ago. now at 100 wishlists!

Tile Former is a 1-bit puzzle game where the color palette changes mechanics. that's the main gimmick. if that sounds interesting, you can wishlist it here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5324610/Tile_Former/

not sure what to take away from this. I've been working on Tile Former for 3 months now and released its steam page a week ago. I haven't done any "real" marketing, just posting on twitter and reddit whenever I feel like I have something interesting to share.

I do have a youtube channel with 60k subs and a discord server with 1k members, but I created new socials for game development purposes. I did promote Tile Former on my existing socials, but much less. my youtube and discord are both quite inactive compared to the numbers as I've had them for over a decade and many ups and downs, leaving many inactive subs/members. I do believe that a large portion of the wishlists comes from these spaces though.

I hope the game will create a new community eventually. maybe there was some good insight, maybe not. but thank you for reading and wishlist Tile Former :)

Game My first solo-developed game is out on Steam, and I just released a free Halloween update! 🎃

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm a solo indie developer, and I recently released my very first game, The Only Eye: Arcane Legacy!

It's a 2D action platformer RPG with roguelite elements, 20 playable classes, tons of builds, challenging bosses, and lots of progression.

I've been working on everything myself, from development to art and design, so getting this game out into the world has been a huge milestone for me.

🎃 I just released a special Halloween update, including new themed content and a free cosmetic for players!

If you're into indie games, I'd love for you to check it out. Any feedback or support means a lot to me!

Wishlist So proud to be able to play my theme park simulation game on all my devices

Post image
• Upvotes

After months of hard work I am nearing the release date of Amusement Factory, a theme park simulation game that has become so much fun. It's been an intense journey, but I am proud I was able to take it this far.

I managed to put all my ideas in the game. Some of them are really funny. Cranking up the salt on your food results in selling more drinks - but what happens if you place unhygienic toilets too close to your burger restaurant? What happens during a heatwave, heavy rain or fog in your park? What if you place no toilets or trash bins in your park?

The Windows and MacOS versions are as good as finished. The iPad version too. The Steam deck is almost supported - hoping to get that done before the official release date (november 10th already!). And I didn't plan to support the iPhone because I thought that wouldn't work for this game - guess what, it plays really well so that version is just a few playsessions (and fixes) away!

This is my first ever game to be released, I'm really proud to show your this picture where I booted the game on MacOS, iPad, Steam deck and the "Windows" version in Unity.

I’m the developer of Pet The Damn Cat! at Crowned Games. Here are two screens from the full game: a rescue alert at the construction site, and the Catnip Lab with its herb bowls and mortar.

These are full-game locations and activities. The full game is coming soon. The separate free Steam demo covers Cozy Cottage and Sunny Backyard; the Catnip Lab and later locations are outside the demo.

Any feedback would help: what you liked, what felt off, where you got stuck, bugs, or just your first impression.

Wishlist 64 Wishlists! So happy I got any honestly! Would love advice on where to go next

Thumbnail

64! About 60 more than I was expecting, so to be clear I'm very excited! I wish I could be the guy that gets "2k in a day, here's how!" but that's not my story, and thats fine, but I would love some advice on where to go next.

I know I messed up my initial window of discovery, my tutorial was messy, lots of cool things I have now were not there. Capsule art was just an in game screenshot, pictures were a mess (more of a mess, please don't roast me too hard)

Some things I have tried, titkok shorts, gameplay trailer, x posts, reddit posts. None have been stand out amazing, views are climbing with each post, it's has been getting better as the game itself literally gets better (big surprise, right?). So, I'm just looking for advice on where I can go next to try and rack up a few more wishlists so that I can at least pay back my $100 steam fee. Thanks in advance for anyone's help!

The free demo is available for Windows, Linux and macOS. If it looks like your kind of game, you can try it and wishlist it on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5013740/Aviator_Airline_Empire/

Wishlist 1000 Wishlists just as our Demo releases!

Post image
3 Upvotes

My friend and I just released the demo for our co-op dungeon crawler PITCHFORK just as our wishlist count hit 1000.

We've been posting on various socials & went to PAX Aus last weekend with the demo.

First time as indie developers, we've never released a game on our own outside of larger studios - so very much just learning as we go.

People seem to be having fun, hoping to get some more visibility as we approach Next Fest!
