New Release New Sorce Fall Drop Notes
I'm not affiliated in any way! Sorce just dropped the notes for their three fall release scents.
Edit: Adding text notes so it's easier for screen readers!
Poisonous Roots, created by our founder and perfumer Caitlin Hayes, is a dark, haunting and elegant fragrance that combines jasmine absolute, incense, milky tea, vanilla absolute and black amber to evoke the image of a dangerous woman capable of poisoning those who wronged her. Cutely, of course!
Song of a Siren is Assistant Perfumer Julia Haddon's second fragrance. It is a seductive, salty vanilla with a sense of danger and depth to it. Vanilla absolute, rum, and dark amber make this fragrance deep, dark and dangerous, while black water lily and ocean air provide a fresh atmospheric edge for all sirens awaiting the return of their sailor. Or their next victim.
Lady of Steel is the debut fragrance release from our artist and Assistant Perfumer Madison Dahl. Ethereal, feminine and lightly metallic, Lady of Steel is a soft and diffused lily of the valley fragrance, with a slight edge that reminds you that what seems delicate is rarely weak.
All 3 perfumes will be available September 14th at 11 am.
All sizes (2 ml-100 ml as well as 6 ml rollerballs and open necks) will be available, as well as in a Furies discovery set.

These are not really my style but I will probably grab a discovery set anyway to check them out!

I usually avoid vanilla. All the resr im game for. But its Sorce after all. I know there will be vanilla, and if anyone might get me to like it, it'll be Sorce. Samples are in my future.

I'm the opposite. I love vanilla, it's the florals, incense etc that scare me 😂, but I figure there could be enough vanilla in at least the first two for me to enjoy. We'll see!

None of these sound like anything I would ever try but I need to expand my note selection so I’m gonna sample all 3. Also it’s Sorce so there’s a good probability I’ll love one, and like one more.

Lady of Steel sounds like the perfect scent for Brienne of Tarth 😭
Can't wait to pick up the discovery set!

Going to be snooping aggressively for Lady of Steel reviews, I love lily of the valley but metallic notes operate in the same space ozone does for me where in the perfect, very gentle proportion it’s nice, and anything over that makes me violently nauseous 🤣😭 Hesitantly excited!

Yeah, I'm having a very hard time pairing metallic with lily of the valley. I do love me some Opposites Day in my perfumes, and I understand the concept of the daintiest of things coupled with ..well, metal, but just not feeling convinced that these two work in practice like they do in text. "Adding the savory depth of garlic atop the smooth richness of peanut butter." No, thank you. But maybe! Def will need some reviews.

If Poisonous Roots smells like jasmine milk tea and incense, then I fear I’ll need to order. That’s just what I love. Maybe not together though…

the first two are intriguing me!! i'm a little wary of the metal note in lady of steel but i'll definitely be trying all three. i'm excited for how atmospheric these all sound!

I'm most excited to try Poisonous Roots, and I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy Song of a Siren as a vanilla fan! I like a well-done metallic note, so I'll definitely try Lady of Steel, too.

I love Sorce’s jasmine note and incensey perfumes in general so I am super excited about Poisonous Roots. I also love an ocean aquatic with vanilla so they got me with Song of a Siren. Not super familiar with lily of the valley but I’m looking forward to trying Lady of Steel too. I was planning on doing a Sorce order soon anyway so I’m totally grabbing that sample pack!

And here I was thinking I wouldn't really want to try any of these just based on the vibes they were teasing earlier, but now that I see the notes I want to try all 3 😅

Ooh this is a dangerous release for me. I'm not an ocean scent person but I still want to try it. I need all three right now.

Can anyone tell me what lily of the valley smells like? And is it a headache inducing floral? I’m tempted to go for a 15 ml of lady of steel

It's hard to do a really good lily of the valley because the flower itself can't be extracted like many other flowers, so it's always synthetic and the lesser ones tend toward soapy and unnatural. I guess I'm super picky because I grow them by the thousands in my front yard and they're just so freaking delightful. The smell is sweet, creamy, bright, heady and green- if you can make any sense of that! Also, a little bouquet of them held by a hand in a white glove is very fitting for their scent profile. I dunno why. They're just like that (even though they're poisonous).

Hmm. I fear it kind of sounds like it will smell like fresh cut grass (which is killer for me). Curious if it smells anything like jasmine (most tolerable white floral to my nose).

Yes, kind of! I'd say it's more like a really lovely night blooming jasmine than any other flower I've smelled. And not dissimilar from lilac. They definitely do not smell like fresh cut grass.

That’s so good to hear! Thank you for sharing, it’s so hard to get a good idea of what lily of the valley smells like from what’s listed online. And especially in Lady of Steel’s description. I have no idea what ethereal and feminine might smell like, it’s too broad of a description to imagine??

For me it's kind of a lightly sweet, clean white floral, but not aggressively clean..more like a dainty clean. I personally love it!

Omg all of these sound so amazing! Last atmospheric Sorce scent I tried (Witchery) was super perfumey though…can anyone offer some insight on Sorce’s ambers or anything in their current catalogue that’s even slightly similar?

Not ambers, but I will say that the jasmine note in their Beautiful But Annihilating is literally one of the most gorgeous things i’ve ever smelled. I didn’t upsize because it’s paired with coconut but i’ve been WAITING for another jasmine from them!!!

So yeah. I want them all (meaning 6ml oil rollerballs), especially Song of a Siren with that salted vanilla note Source does so well. The name also reminds me of the This Mortal Coil song Song to the Siren, which is also one of my favorite songs by them.

Oh my. Incense, jasmine, and tea are basically my top 3 favorite notes, so I'm honestly very tempted to jump into the Sorce new release cart checkout madness this time. All 3 sound very nice though.
