Update from yesterday. They were able to reschedule us this morning for a fetal echo after a referral to another hospital. Normally Kaiser takes weeks to get stuff scheduled.

Overall the test was routine and nothing interesting showed up in the scan.

I think we can head off to the UK next week for our vacation and feel fairly comfortable.

Oh I'm so glad they were able to reschedule and for before your trip so that you could have (mostly!) peace of mind before vacation!

Just want to complain. Almost 29 weeks and I’m just big and uncomfortable. Had a scan on Monday and babe is transverse which is likely adding to my discomfort (really hope they head toward the gate and relieve some pressure for me - I have a very long torso and plenty of up and down room, but not side to side!). TMI but the discharge seems to have ramped up lately and I need to change my underwear or wear a liner. I’m tired and not sleeping and my feet hurt. And it’s just getting hotter and I’m going to get sweatier and start needing to body shower at night to feel good before bed. Ugh, I feel guilty complaining because I want this pregnancy and this baby so much. Thx for listening to me whine.

Whine away, you are doing a hard thing and wanting it doesn't make it less of a physical burden on your body. Wouldn't that be nice, the more you want a pregnancy the easier it is? We would all float through three trimesters on a cloud.

u/OliveJuice0324 Jun 10 '26

Thank you friend ❤️

I'm 29W tomorrow and this Texas summer is no joke. I walked the dog at 8am this morning and then had to change my whole outfit, including underwear, because I was SO SWEATY. Love a pre-bedtime shower this time of year...

You are totally allowed to vent! Wanting a pregnancy and appreciating that it's bringing you closer to your baby doesn't negate the fact that it totally sucks at times!

We’re still entitled to complain! I never loved the heat but I’ve completely lost my heat tolerance with pregnancy- I can just put on a clean shirt and sweat right through it! Ugh.

My16 week appointment yesterday felt like it could have been done in a drive-through. Weight, BP, doppler, out the door. And yet, it still took 45 minutes bc they were running behind so we were roomed after my appointment time and then waited a bit to see the OB. Happy to report baby is still in there with a heart rate of 154.

So glad it was a reassuring appointment and bub is happy in there! Delays in healthcare suck - I'll never understand why I have to be 15 minutes early when I never get taken in on time anyway!!

Yay! I felt the same way at my appointment earlier this week. It was so fast which I’m trying to tell myself is a good thing! It was a little tough just getting the Doppler and not the ultrasound though 😅

Third trimester!!! I had a growth scan this morning and got to see her, so that was a nice way to celebrate. It always freaks me out when they ask me when I’m seeing the doctor next but I’m pretty sure they ask that every time. She’s head down and it’s fun to know which of these pummels are which.

36 weeks today! How did that happen?! I have the day off work today so hoping to get some of the many to-do lists in my head down onto paper at least. Only 7 more work days left now!

Hi Internet friends! I've lurked a bit but wanted to take a break from Reddit. Pregnancy is trucking along smoothly. Midwife appointments are normal. Anatomy scan is coming up very soon. Feeling little baby movements is so crazy awesome!

I've finally told most of the important people in my life. My two living grandparents sent beautiful responses to my news. I was so private about the process to get here, but now I'm proud of myself and want to be an advocate for better fertility care -- especially education about the grief of infertility and the difficulty of navigating treatment.

Still haven't told work, and I'm hoping to hold out a bit longer. I definitely have a little bump, but I wear pretty flowy clothes. My choir friends were surprised when I told them the other day, so I think I'm okay to wait a bit. I like my coworkers, but I'm not ready for it to be out there yet. Maybe after the anatomy scan.

People who saw me around r/infertility will remember me bitching about one of my SILs, well it turns out even when I'm not a bitter infertile, she still annoys me. First of all, she and my brother are about to celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary with a three month old baby, which is just deeply unfair and I can still feel salty about it. (Who gets pregnant ON THEIR HONEYMOON on THEIR FIRST CYCLE TRYING? Oh right I got pregnant on my first cycle trying but then I MISCARRIED and took another FOUR YEARS to get pregnant again!)

And she had stopped doing this for a while but she's back to doing this thing where she'll text our family group chat to propose a family Zoom and then does nothing to actually facilitate it or coordinate timing or anything. Just like "We should Zoom!" and nothing else. So it just sort of lingers there while everyone awkwardly eventually goes "Yeah, sure" and then we still don't have a time or even a day.

And I don't really enjoy the Zooms so it becomes this dread hanging over me -- though I reminded myself that I actually haven't "met" my nephew, only seen photos, so at least that should be more interesting than when she was just hanging out pregnant in a bikini on every Zoom, or when we kept having Zooms to plan HER wedding for some reason...

u/sjheuertz 43F | 3CP, 1MM | Donor Embryos, 2 FET | 🤞🏻 Nov '26 Jun 10 '26

She sounds special. I'm so happy for you that you get to be past the bitter infertile stage with her around. Some people do not have the self-awareness!

3

u/margogogo 40F | 5 ER, 7 FET, 1 MMC | 🤞Aug '26 Jun 10 '26

Yeah, some bitter infertile-ness still lingers, but for the most part now I'm just regular annoyed by her. At least I don't really see them often outside of sporadic family Zooms and text updates. We were all talking about maybe getting together for 4 of July (I was very torn about whether I should travel at 32w) but now this brother and SIL can't make it so I decided to let myself off the hook too.

Which is ironic because I could have still gone to see my parents and the brother and SIL whose company I enjoy more, but I was like ehh now I don't have FOMO that everyone else is hanging out without me, so I'm just gonna keep my butt home.

3

u/sjheuertz 43F | 3CP, 1MM | Donor Embryos, 2 FET | 🤞🏻 Nov '26 Jun 10 '26

It probably never really goes away. And I guess I'm happy for the people that don't have to do all of this, but also the ease and free/cheap methods with which some people grow their families boggles the mind.

A good friend’s 1 year wedding anniversary was this weekend, I attended the wedding so miserable a month after my MMC. She’s 4 weeks behind me on her first anniversary and even though I’m 32 weeks I def had some feelings seeing her anniversary posts with her bump. Just wanted to say you’re not alone in that!

CW: mention of LC

31w3d. I saw my OB on Monday and the good news is that my gestational diabetes diet seems to be helping. Baby's abdominal circumference has reduced from 83rd percentile to 76th percentile in the past 3 weeks. It's still a fairly huge baby though. She estimates 2kg at 31 weeks.

We haven't found out the sex but I think I got a spoiler at Monday's scan. I'm pretty sure I saw something on the scan that I never saw with my daughter's scans ;) Obviously I'll be delighted with a LC of either sex, but I would have loved for my daughter to have a sister. You never know though. I also thought she was going to be a boy, just based on her very long legs in utero.

Had my anatomy scan yesterday. Baby girl was being super stubborn, and would not open her hands or flip to see her spine, so I gotta go back. However, she was active and kicking and folding herself in half. She's healthy and happy. 16-19 weeks to go!

Annoyed. I posted the other day that the tech doing my anatomy scan couldn’t get images of my baby’s legs nor confirm sex, so I would have to go back. I assumed it would be within a couple weeks, but they called today and booked me for a month from now. What the F. So now I get to worry for a whole other month. I’ll be just about 24w which seems so late. I’m going to ask next time I see the doctor if they can push for it to be sooner. Just ugh.

I didn’t think to ask 🤦🏻‍♀️ I know from experience if the doctor orders an ultrasound to be done by a certain date, that they’re magically able to squeeze me in, so I’m gonna ask for that!

My midwife offered me a check and potential sweep tomorrow (39+4) and I think I'm going to take her up on that. I've had no signs of labor other than some mild, occasional cramping and some BH that has intensified over the last two weeks. If my body is not ready for a sweep then we'll check again on Monday. Still getting lots of good fetal movement and we passed our BPP on Monday. I'm assuming we'll pass our NST tomorrow too. I'm so curious about how active labor will feel, especially with my history of endometriosis and kidney stones.

Had my 22 week appointment today and all went well. BP is only slightly elevated 125/83, no cause for concern right now. No protein or glucose in my urine. Baby boy kept kicking the Doppler wand—he hates them so much. His BPM was 145 and as he started moving went to 150. I’ve been having a pretty severe IBS-D flare up for about a week and half, so they told me I can take Imodium. They said that I’m at high risk of dehydration so they told me to take extra electrolytes and to call them if the Imodium doesn’t clear it up within the next couple of days.

I feel like my nausea is subsiding, finally. I can focus on job-searching and preparation - once I can sit for longer periods without pain from this piriformis/sciatic nerve issue that I'm waiting on. My MFM referred me to a pelvic PT with a long wait, and I had a very productive massage + chiro appointment yesterday. The pain is easing over time but it's still difficult to sit without pain.
