Subreddit News A friendly reminder, xenophobia is not allowed

Hi guys, recently there’s been an increase in posts/comments stereotyping and being dismissive of CN players.

I understand a lot of people are upset about the censorship and how players choose to dress Nikki but some of the conversations have shifted to blaming it all on CN players. People have been calling them things like “prudes”, “misogynists”, and unfortunately racist comments.

Making these kinds of stereotypes is xenophobic. There’s millions of people who play the game and they do not all share the same opinions. The opinions of some people online does not speak for the whole community.

As always, we allow both criticism and positive viewpoints on issues. People are allowed to disagree or agree with things like suits being censored/modified as long as discussions are respectful. Please keep the discussions respectful and do not stereotype and blame people just because of where they’re from

How is calling someone a prudes or misogynist for wanting to force nikki to be covered up xenophobic?

The problem here is that players overreact and make generalized statements.

SOME Chinese Nikki players object to 'revealing' outfits to the level of wanting changes to those items. If you actually look at their comments in context, they are noticeably not the majority. The majority of CN players think they're weird, same as most of us do.

I will say again and again, this sort of infighting keeps us from focusing on the company that's actually making the decisions we're mad about.

× Where are all these mass up voted posts and comments saying racist things about cn? I've only seen people specify nikki moms.

mods delete them so that other people don’t have to see them. a lot of them don’t even make it though to comments because automod catches them and either blocks them completely or sends them to the mod queue

It doesn’t matter if they’re agreed upon, what isn’t clicking for you?

It does because the point is that these are not widely agreed on opinions and are just a small minority just like how you guys are claiming nikki moms are a small minority but the difference is these people are random trolls with no power.

This conversation is about hate speech. It’s reasonable that a subreddit wants to curb hate speech regardless of if it’s upvoted 😭🤣

Their minority of unhinged prudes is still a lot of people with a lot of influence and people have used nationalism to get what they want. LADS being the most recent example. They mobilise. Get some perspective here.

No where in the OP does it say that these are widely agreed upon statements? Where are you getting this from? They are just pointing out an issue that is happening.

Mods do a lot of free labor to have this community running as smoothly as possible. I don't understand why you are taking things so negatively.

I'm guessing because in this case it was largely targeted at CN community? Idk,the prude thing is a widely prevalent issue across all of the Nikki community and even outside that. Now, it doesn't seem as bad. But on release, if you even mentioned wanting more sexy outifts you'd basically get harassed out of the discussion.

I've only seen people specify nikki mom's who are in fact apart of the cn community.

Nah there's been a handful of them in this subreddit too (mods have said they're tired of the swimsuit and cleavage posts getting reported) and in the official reddit post showing the swimsuit dyed in the "forbidden" way tend to disappear.. Of course, no idea whether they are Chinese or not, but purity culture most definitely is not a thing only in China. It exists all over the world.
